  1. Hey Eric, A friend just pointed this out for me. I feel stupid. Many thanks for the quick reply! Much appreciated!
  2. Posted: Sun Jan 11, 2009 6:38 am Post subject: Problem with too loud output bounces Dear fellow Logic Pro users, Got a (huge) problem and I never had this before in the couple of years I have been using this (Since Logic 5) I mixed six songs for an album and send it to the mastering plant. It appears two of the songs are too loud, and the only thing it needs to be done is lower the output volume and bounce again. Should be easy right? Well.....I can lower the volume on the Output 1-2 (I don't use 3-4), or the volume on the Master track, and even though the audible sound is adjusted, the outcome after the bounce is still the same. What am I missing here? All help is much appreciated! Cheers, Björn
  3. yeah already passed the five hours. Told the client to go home. Really strange problem. It reminds me of another problem I often have : automations that is NOT visible on certain tracks. I created a nice template for myself with 30 audio tracks to import waves of clients. No problem you would say...but on 2 of the tracks the fader goes down when you play it. Even if you write automation (volume) in it, it is bypassed by this kind of ' invisible' automations. It is really strange, but after all....it is software....(even when it is on a mac! )
  4. hey there, No that didn't help. I just found out something: It is the first sample/ wave filed played in the song. If I move another wave file on another track BEFORE this sample, it does NOT have the click. It still has to be sound though, I can not move an empty track before it (otherwise it would have been a great work around! ) So still no solution unfortunately......
  5. Hey guys, I have a nice wave file of a synthesizer that I need to load in an arrange window for a client. At the moment I start playback the file in Logic's arrange window the file gives a nasty tick! at the start. Whatever I do....the tick stays.... I can move the whole song a few bars...the tick stays. Moved it to eight different audio tracks...no difference. The song consists of 25 audio files, and not one of them has a problem. So.....what can you do? Well...I asked the client to bounce it again at home and send me a new one. No luck there, since the new files ticks too Note: in I tunes, Quicktime, or even on a pc (yegh!!!! ) the file sound great. I really has something to do with the combination of this audio file and the arrange window of Logic. Can someone help me out? We need to finish this song in five hours and we're stuck! Thanks!!
  6. It was already checked..... But thanks for thinking along man. It is really bugging me out... Anyone?
  7. yeah that's exactly how I normal did it, but I don't see the sample rate conversion bar anymore (which automatically pops up when you try to import an audio file) It started when I changed all my Logic templates to a 48 sample rate. (it was on 44.1 but I didn't notice hence the fact that in Logic 8 it is not standard visible in your transport bar) It is a huge problem for me now since I can not import filesthat clients bring with them
  8. Hey guys, When I used to drag (or import) an audio file in my Logic 8 setup, it automatically detects in the audio bin whether it is an 44.1 or 48 file. It still does, but when a 44.1 file is dragged to my arrange page it does not convert. Result: Foo Fighters on helium! Anyone has a clue what is wrong? I work with a 48 setup (max of my focusrite octopre with my logic 8 on a dual g5 with a hammerfall dsp card. Cheers
  9. Hey guys, I have this problem with Waveburner since I bought and installed Logic 8. When I start it up it cracks the hell out of my speakers. Sounds like a sample rate difference. When I take a look at my Hammerfall DSP settings, the stranges thing happen: the 48 changes to 44.1, and changes back, and back again etc. So I think it is pretty clear this must be a problem. My question: My soundcard (and speakers) are connected to a Focusrite Octopre LE, and my standard setting on that one is always ADC Lock (red light for the ones knowing this machine) and a sample rate of 48. It makes sense to me that waveburner (since it burns to cd) is a 44.1 software machine. But do I have to change the sample rate on all other things to adjust it to this software plugin??? ( I also have a behringer ada 8000 set on 48 ) Cheers, Björn
  10. Hey guys, Small question: When I bounce a multitrack song in Logic 8, it comes out stereo. Well....at least I THOUGHT it was stereo. When I send it to the mastering plant the guys over there told me it wat 2 x mono, and they made a printscreen of the wave file to show. They were right, two exact mono tracks, looking like a stereo file. I only have it with this one song, so there is a big chance I messed up here. I checked the output 1-2 (my main output) and it is stereo there, at least...the leds show me it is stereo. There is no panning involved at that output track....so I really don't know where to look. Anyone an idea? Thanks!!
  11. Hey David, Yes I have tried. I took last month off, so that is why my late response to this and other posts. I checked hyperdraw, only thing that happens when I click autodefine is that my wave file gets another coler/ highlighted. I can not see anything. I tried to delete all automation data, but no use. It must be something wrong in the template that I have created, it is not on every channel, just a few random. It is messed up, Need to mix a project now and well......the fader keeps going down when I tell it it needs to boost that guitar with a few db.....
  12. Hey Bassbottom and Matt, Thanks for all your advice. Bassbottom: looking forward to see how that is done. I solo'd the kick but I could still hear the rest of EZ Thanks!
  13. Hey guys, thanks to you and Paul (through private messaging) I got it working. Thanks! I still had 2 questions left for him, maybe it wouldnt hurt to ask them to you too: 1. Since I was one EZ drummer tom short to trigger, so I picked DFH inside Ez drummer. (the EZ plug in) Am I still able to pick real rock sounds instead of these metal sounds? (recorded a rock band with it) 2. How can I solo the kick, snare, toms, so that I can bounce them to audio, and treat them with compression etc? ( I tried to solo the kick, but then I can hear the snare too) I did this in the arrange, maybe I should have done it in the mixer or environment? 3. Ok....one more : I recorede thru real (very good) mics, and Midi at the same time. The real snare sounded crappy thru mic, because we had to silence that because it was resonating. But now I have a hihat and overhead track that had too much bleeding (even with close miking) Any tips for next time? (I only want to use the real cymbals, and the rest of the EZ drummer) Cheers!
  14. lots of Cubase support there...... But I am trying things out now, also with a guy of Toontrack and with Shaun of this board to make things work Thanks
  15. Thanks for helping me out here. My comments are in your field, couldn't get them separated
