  1. Thanks. I think the main issue was that saving from the settings menu would not automatically save my file in the appropriate folder and there's no option to navigate as all seen settings show up in the drop down. I'll check out the patch option. - Emile
  2. Logic X will allow me to save my own channel strip settings under the settings button menu. Those saved cst files go into the audio app folder within the music folder. I can't find an option to load those settings. Thanks. - Emile
  3. Thanks. The problem was that I was opening audio by clicking on the audio region and functions wasn't available. By option clicking on the audio region, the editor opens in a separate window with functions on the menu. Actually, the way I used to do it was with search maximum in change gain. This new search peak is good because it tells you exactly where the peak is. I don't recall Logic 9 being able to do that.
  4. I have been trying to figure this out ever since I upgraded from Logic 9 to X. It used to be in the sample editor under the functions menu, now? Thanks. - Emile
  5. I solved it. The shared library installer was putting it into my system library folder, not my invisible user library folder.
  6. I suspect that something went wrong with my shared library install, perhaps due to earlier installs that got carried over in that idiot migration process. I've removed earlier files and reinstalled but I just get a folder with a red warning icon on it and no contents.
  7. I'm trying to sort out Logic 10.2.0 on my new iMac running El Capitan 10.11.1. I'd like to import a rex loop into the EXS editor as I had frequently done in Logic 9 on my old setup but all options are grayed out. I've downloaded and installed the Rex library shared library file but ReCycle Convert still gives me grayed non-options. I'm not finding anything in the manual that helps and I've searched this forum. Thanks for any help. - Emile
  8. Jordito, thanks man! I searched and found it on an earlier thread and was just coming back to say never mind but you beat my ass. Thanks! - Emile
  9. I'm working on a project file that was started by another user. He's tripping me up with all sorts of inadvertent booby traps that he didn't mean to trigger. What does it mean when a mixer channel has a red slash through it's solo button? Every time I try to solo a track I hear this track as well. How do I reset that and what is it? Thanks. - Emile
  10. I've never encountered this before. It's a Logic project somebody else started. Some of his midi regions on the arrange page display divided in half, with a horizontal divide. The top part is in the selected color but the bottom part is gray. If I click on it controller data is written, even though I'm using the pointer tool. What mode is this and how do I disable it? Thanks. - Emile
  11. The phone home lag bug, I forgot about that one. I had Little Snitch disable Logic phone home to get around it. After updating I enabled Logic phone home and it works fine. - Emile
  12. Perfect, thanks for your expertise. - Emile
  13. So what's the easiest, fastest way to get rid of all automation in a project? Thanks. - Emile
  14. Guys, I've finished my mix. I finally managed to skirt the problems and get it done the way I wanted. The mysterious automation level anomaly still hasn't been resolved but getting rid of the mutes did it. My own automated panning mistakes involve copying mono plugins into stereo tracks and attempting to pan mono tracks within mono tracks. Some of this was because I wasn't starting with my own template and assumed things were set up certain ways, some of it was just my own stupidity and inexperience. So when I have a chance, I'll make some test tracks and see if I can recreate the automated level problem or if it was just some luckless combination of factors due to my bandmate who engineered the original recording and the mix on my own very different system. If I can get it to happen again I'll start another thread. Thanks to everyone for trying to help me with this, that's why I always turn to this forum to solve these problems. - Emile
