  1. Hello. I have Logic Pro and Main Stage and I was wondering if someone could help me find patches for the Lyle Mays 2-voice solo sound which I can download? I'm not a keyboard player and I'm not familiar with programming synths, so I'm hoping to be able to just purchase or download and install these. Also, I'm looking for the synth patch that starts the ELP song, Karn Evil #9 1st Impression Part 2. Thanks!
  2. Hello. I have a laptop which I use at two different locations. I prefer to leave a hard drive in each location, loaded with the Sound Library. Can I switch back and forth between two different Sound Libraries on two different hard drives?
  3. Hi Paul. How would I do that? I've never really understood the Audio/MIdi applicaton at all. It seemed to work and I just left well enough, alone. Please see the attached Audio/Midi screenshot. How can I connect the keyboard to not be part of Sibelius? By the way, I'm not using M-Audio Midisport Uno and I don't even know what those other external devices are. Thanks for your help!
  4. Thanks for the feedback everyone. There are definitely ways of avoiding some of the issues. I’m just looking for the optimal initial set-up. When you’re writing music and jumping between the piano and entering notes in the score, it gets frustrating. I may have to set-up another non-Mac-connected keyboard. Thanks!
  5. Also, with Sibelius as the active application, the keyboard goes through Sibelius and will play the sound last selected. Do I need to do something in the Audio-Midi app on Mac to make them separate? Sorry, I'm pretty confused.
  6. Even with using the standalone Keyscape, playing the keyboard changes the Sibelius score if a note is selected. It's easy to forget to deselect a note. Is there a better way to do this? Thanks!
  7. Hi Paul. So, if you "wire" the keystation88 to the piano in the Logic Environment, you will get the piano, plus whatever instrument was last selected in Sibelius - two presets sounding simultaneously. Also, if Sibelius is the application at the top of your screen, the notes you play will overwrite the notes in the score. I will try to run Keyscape in stand-alone mode next to Logic and Sibelius. Thanks!
  8. I have done the “wiring” through the environment before and remember still having issues. Can I do it outside of Logic? If so, could you point me to instructions on how to do it? Thanks!
  9. Hello. I realize this is a question that involves Logic but is not entirely about Logic, but I'm hoping someone can help me. I compose/arrange in Sibelius Ultimate which then plays back the instruments in Logic Pro via IAC driver. It works fantastic and I love it! However, there's one issue I would love to resolve. I sometimes want to stop work in Sibelius and work out some ideas on my M-Audio Keystation 88 keyboard with just a simple piano preset. The keyboard is connected via USB to my Mac. When I go to the keyboard, and Logic is the app on my screen, it will usually play back the preset of the last instrument I was working on in Sibelius - could be drums or bass, for example. If Sibelius is the app on my screen, it will often enter the notes I'm playing on the keyboard into Sibelius, and overwrite a part. I would love my keyboard to simply maintain the sound of a piano sample and not interfere with the Logic set-up or Sibelius set-up at all. Does this mean setting up a separate virtual instrument outside of Logic? I've never done that. I do own Keyscapes, Omnisphere and other third-party software. Thanks for your help!
  10. Hello. I recorded my group to Logic the other day.The drums were recorded direct from a Roland TD-4 electronic drum kit. It has a Left and Right output. I recorded them to two different tracks. I thought I recorded two mono signals to two mono tracks. The first photo shows what I got -- one mono file and one stereo file with information on one side. Then I bounced the stereo file to mono using the GAIN plug-in set to MONO and I got the next photo. It looks like stereo with the same signal on either side. If I keep each track as they are and I pan them hard left and right, will I get the stereo recording I was trying to get? Or, is there another step I have to do or redo? Thanks!
  11. I will try SuperDuper. Symbolic links sound interesting. Are there any “how to articles” specifically written for Logic Pro? Thanks!
  12. Hello. I have many Logic Pro software instruments and resources on an external SSD drive to free up space on my internal hard drive. Logic Pro boots up and always finds the resources just fine. However, because I take my laptop to work to several different locations. I wanted to make some duplicate SSD drives to keep in those locations. I've tried this, but Logic Pro always knows that they're different drives and wants to reset. Is there a software that can make copies of the drives that Logic Pro will accept as all being the same default SSD drive? Thanks!
  13. Hello. I compose in Logic Pro X and like to use realistic virtual instruments to get a sense if my arrangements work. Can anyone recommend third-party electric guitar virtual instruments which are either free or inexpensive? Right now I'm using the guitars in the EXS24 sampler. I'm hoping to find classic clean, crunch, and distorted guitar sounds. Any help would be appreciated!
  14. Hello. I have Logic 10.4.6 with Omnisphere, Keyscape, instruments etc. I have an m-audio Keystation 88. I want to create a super, portable set-up so I can play these software instruments live. what is the most portable computer/audio interface combo that will allow me to play live without too much latency? I have a Macbook Pro but is there something even smaller, cheaper, more portable? BTW, the venues supply monitors and PA. Thanks!
