  1. Thanks Does anyone remember the problems that were going on before and the details of how they were resolved?
  2. A while ago I remember SSD had some small problems. Are those ironed out?
  3. I will definitely keep this in mind in the future. It wasn't at the start of the take but about 3 seconds into it. I would play it, and it'd be ok. Bounce it and click. =/ I got lucky on one bounce doing it NOT 2nd cycle pass but still real time and then just merged it into the stem I'm using to mix. Logic likes messing with me. Thanks for the help guys!
  4. It's not present at ALL when I play the track in my project. I bounce it either in real time or not, 2nd bounce or not. But there's this ONE spot that EVERY time pops. There's no automation going on in that spot. I can't figure it out. What is going on and where do I begin looking for a solution. This is making me crazy. I could say forget it and just deal with this absurd pop that shows up. Whatever. But really? It's not SUPER noticeable, but it spikes the meter like 12 db. It could pass for maybe a bass string hitting the pickup magnet...except it's not and it's not in my project. Halp me! Thanks!
  5. hahahah my bad @_@ I meant "Export>All Tracks As Audio Files"
  6. Hey guys! Been a while Anyway I'm working on bouncing some stuff down to try and see if I can mix everything to sound a little better. Problem is if I "bounce all tracks to files" keeping the same bit/sampling rate to .wav or .aiff I sometimes don't get all the...information. It's like sometimes a track won't line up and will come in early. Or some tracks won't bounce the automation. SO I thought it's a pain but I'll go in and create a cycle, solo each track I want, then bounce. Turns out this caused some problems too. Maybe I'm just too picky but in my Logic track I had a weird howly sound that started in the right speaker and slowly moved center. I bounced it THREE TIMES (first all tracks, then twice solo'd) and the stem it made was straight center. The confusing part was that the file isn't pan automated in my project track. It's just the wave. Yet when I bounce the natural panning is gone. So. In the interest of not stabbing my eyes out, how am I going to solve this when I get to my 80 track arrangements and have to send the stems out to get mixed by a professional? 20 minutes of music over all those tracks seems insane. Especially if I'm forced to do it in realtime to get things bounced properly. HALP ME! Thanks!
  7. Even in the case of the bass where I'll have 1 real low bassy sound, 1 distorted sound, a DI sound for clack, and then a higher tone sound? I mix those 4 liberally with automation to get the creative sounds I want. Definitely need to talk with the Mix Engineer about it because Ideally I could send him all 4 and tell him what I did to give him a general idea rather than just a stereo bounce of all 4. Right?
  8. I'm still working on these prog-rock tracks and I think I'm closing in on finishing. I started doing Drums and Bass and now after doing guitars and all the other sounds I want to go back and fine tune the drums. I'm using 2 Superior Drummer multi-outs and I'm showing all the tracks in my arrange. My thinking was that I could just automate the things I can't really control like if the Hi's get out of control because other parts cut out or there's 4 bars of cymbals that go nuts etc... Before I spend a bunch of time doing this, I am realizing that I've decided to send these tracks out to a mix engineer and I don't know if it would help or hurt their work. I imagine I'm going to be sending out either all 16 drum tracks or just a combined 8 ($$$). I imagine the more I automate the get how I want the EASIER it would be right? Maybe a late question as I've already done this on 4 bass tracks for 25 minutes of music (blending different sounds like Justin Chancellor). (BTW anybody use 4dsounds - http://www.4dsounds.com ? They're the guys that did tesseract and I figure they would "get" these tracks but I haven't reached out on pricing...is gonna be expensive...) Thanks!
  9. Honestly I WISH I could just record my amp. I've spent HOURS and HOURS asking that same question. For my biggest guitar sounds I'm currently using around 6 tracks. Record a hard left using one sound and a hard right using another. Then I double those in the center for different low end and then again by accident I left unmuted some older channel strip's I was comparing and it sounded good so I mixed 'em in. Definitely not conventional or even a good way to do it. I use mostly Guitar Rig 5 and Recabinet 3 amp sim and sometimes I'll use the Logic amp heads. I actually use the Logic amp heads a lot for the bluesier boutique sounding stuff. Cuts through a mix real well the way it sounds. Good luck. Everybody has their own map to guitar tone on this question.
  10. I know I made a thread sort of similar to this but that was solved so here's THIS one Basically I have 3 HDD's in my Mac Pro. The current system drive is a 320GB and the 3rd drive is an all but unused 500GB. I've been trying to sell these old PowerMac's for a buddy of mine but they dont have any HDD's in them. The thought: Clone my 320HDD system drive onto the 500HDD and then oust the 320 onto a powermac to make selling it easier. My conscern is that cloning isn't quite...cloning.... and I'll end up with problems. Thanks!
  11. When I'm writing a piece of music I often find myself muting 4+ tracks to compare to 4+ OTHER tracks. No matter how fast I am this doesn't work. Even if I were to take the time to assign Groups to the tracks that I want to compare there's always the "mute these and solo these" that has to happen. Is there any way that I can with one click switch between different "states" of Logic where I could have any number of tracks muted and then click to swipe those muted tracks for others?
  12. What about in Logic 9? I notice that sometimes I get fades at the end points of a take folder that I didn't put there but they're only there on certain takes. The takes are full takes, not punch ins, no edits. Just m14-m65 for example. Just multiple takes of the same part because I'm terrible at guitar now and once through isn't good enough @_@
  13. old post just sayin thanks this was my problem
