  1. QUESTION: In AUDIO MIDI SETUP, does anyone know how to TRANSFER the AGGREGATE SETTINGS from one Mac to another? TIP: For those of you who aren't familiar with the AGGREGATE feature in Audio MIDI Setup, try it. This feature can combine several different types of Audio Interfaces into ONE. In other words, you'll be able to add additional inputs & outputs in combination with other devices by 'aggregating' them. For example, I've tried it with a Zoom H4 (USB), M-Audio Ozonic (FW400), and Apple's Built-in Audio and they all work as one device. The thing is, there are probably a large number of users who may have USB or Firewire Audio Interfaces, which are no longer being utilized. So, all of a sudden you need some extra I/O for a particular session. Well, use whatever you've got, set them up in Audio MIDI Setup as an Aggregate device, and it 'may' meet your needs... temporarily or otherwise. For example, there are lot of people who love the Apogee Duet, but feel limited by the number of I/Os. Aggregate a couple Duets together, and you've practically doubled your I/O. Aggregating devices seems to work quite well in Logic Pro 8x. I haven't tried it with other programs like Garageband. So, let us know if this feature works for you. Cheers! Addison
  2. Thanks for your prompt replies regarding your Apogee products. BTW, I noticed that at least one of you has experience with the RME Fireface, I came close to picking one up a Fireface 800 about a week ago but I decided to hold off until I do a bit of research. How is your Logic Fireface experience going vs the Apogee, anything noticeably better or worse? Again sorry for going off topic here. But, I suppose if anyone is having problems with Apogee, RME, or Mackie products using Logic 8 vs Logic 7 it might be helpful.
  3. Hi, Perhaps this is a bit off topic, but since I'm in the market for Apogee products, e.g. perhaps Ensemble, Rosetta 800, or Symphony, etc. it seems that you all are Apogee users. So, since I'm scouring the net for opinions on marrying these products to my G5 Quad, were your systems working perfectly PRIOR to upgrading to Logic 8?
