  1. Thank you for the clarification Eric
  2. Hi guys. Say I wanted to eq the mid and then eq the sides of a stereo track would I place a mid only eq followed by a side only eq in the plugin chain? Or is it better to split into 2 different aux channels for the different mid and side pocessing? Does the Logic eq decode the signal back into a stereo signal after the m/s processing? I´m placing these mid side eqs in the same plugin chain and things sound how I intended in terms of width and mix placement but I was wondering if the signal needs to be split. Apologies if my terminology is off.
  3. thanks man thats exactly what im after 8)
  4. sorry bad wording the song that i reference my mix against is on an audio track that I name 'a/b' I do not bounce my mix and reference in a new project I like to make comparisons on the fly
  5. hi - Im on Logic 8 I have my a/b audio track with my reference track always on mute then when i make the mix comparison I hit solo on the a/b track and all other tracks auto mute but to then get back to having my a/b track on mute and the mix playing i have to click mute and then click to take the solo off I know this sounds really lazy but for me 1 less click would make a difference so is there any tinkering in the enviroment that i can do so that when i select mute on the a/b track it toggles the solo off? hope that makes sense thanks in advance
  6. Does any one know what the key command is to RESET THE CLIP DETECTOR/PEAK LEVEL INDICATOR ??? I had this as a key command on my old MAC but cant seem to successfully find the action in the key command search despite searching with allt of the above terms Logic 8 btw (snow lep) thanks
  7. It seems to relate to my Ohmforce products only so I have emailed support with them but has anyone has come across a similar problem?
  8. when I open a project, after a certain amount of time the parameters on some of my 3rd party AU plugins stop moving i.e. Ill open up my delay and try to move the resonance and it wont move I have to delete the plugin and insert a replacement to move the dials again? I initially thought this was something to do with the read, latch, write ect in the automation but this doesnt seem to be the case? can anyone help.
  9. shift > U selects all your unused regions then delete ...btw is there an alternative for removing audio files that are not in the Bin from the projects audio files folder - rather than going through the used audio region by region ?
  10. am I right in thinking you can also do a realtime bounce of the audio track receiving the external instrument audio signal? (rather tan pressing record)
  11. I get frustrated by this too I either have Ableton rewired or use Kontact or battery to browse sample swiftly but if you're native only then it loooonnng
  12. i tend to start with the kick and bass peaking at around -10db to -9db (as lower frequencies take up the most headroom) and then work from there with the rest of the sounds so they compensate (but depends on your genre) when everything is together you should peak around -3 to -2 on your master giving you plenty of room to compres, eq etc someone correct me if i am incorrect but Decible levels increase exponentionally I believe. understanding this concept really helps during the mixdown some say mix your master to -12 to give the ME plenty to work with , some say -3. who knows I have had tunes mastered that peak at about -0.5 (or there abouts) and the results were incredible you would be surprised what they can do with little headroom to work with - and the right amount of money to warrent a proper mastering job
  13. my Alesis io 26 works absolutley fine with Logic 8 - its a decent interface. the problems I ever experienced have been when I was using it with windows. But its always been solid with my Mac
