check out using the "D" kc to open the list editors ... since I've been using it the problem has not reoccurred.... mind you I'm still not brave enough to try Tempo Alternatives
I've got it running as a 3rd monitor from my mbp... (still waiting for a new MP)
Turn Airplay on in System/monitor prefs...
select Show mirroring in menu bar...
From the menu bar select extended desktop
in Logic drag the movie window to 3rd monitor.
make some screen sets with the movie external and internal (various internal sizes helps)

no... about 3 frames behind, good for presentation though.
sure beats clients huddled around a computer monitor.
Sync critical stuff I still do in Logic's QT window. using screen sets makes it real easy to swap between external and internal QT monitoring.
Maybe a lot of you already know this...
Since the demise of firewire video out in 64bit LP things have been rather frustrating when clients visit the studio and can only see their video on one of my computer displays. But know problem solved... Airplay to Apple TV to large HD Television creates a 3rd monitor to drag the Quicktime window to... QED
