  1. Really? I’m really interested in the 2012’s so thats really reassuring to read. Especially since they are very budget friendly. Thanks a bunch
  2. Hey fellows, Thanks in advance for the help. Well I'm in the market for a used MacBook Pro. I've gotten a lot of years out of my 2009 Mac mini. Mostly I just record myself with ez drummer or bfd2 being the only VI's I use. However I've started doing more live recordings with real drums. My current rig really chokes up when I start doing any sort of audio editing so I figure it's time for a newer one. I've found quite a few within my budget which is about $1500 Canadian. They are all from between 2012-2015. None of them have 16gb of ram they are all mostly 8gb. Is 8 enough for editing drums? I also don't really understand the different i5/i7s. Is there a difference? Maybe a website/resource that would explain it to me like I'm 5? If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be great. My interface is an eleven rack and I'm really not looking to upgrade that. I read in some threads about usb audio dropouts. Is that a problem in some of these older ones I'm looking at? Maybe I would just be better off upgrading the ram and hard drive in my Mac mini? I've started traveling a lot for work which is why I'm looking at a laptop. Thanks again for the help and also reading my ramblings.
  3. I use the eleven rack all the time with Logic X. I haven't upgraded to Yosemite yet though. The expansion pack is a firmware upgrade for the unit. No plugins are used to make it work right. Avid even released a standalone editor for it. Head over to http://www.elevenrackpresets.com lots of info on it there.
  4. It only happens in logic and that is the only program I'm running. Weirdly it only just started today. I'm aware that 4 isn't a whole lot of ram wish I could afford to get some more. It's happened to every project I've opened today. I also tried a reboot and trashing the prefs. Thanks for the response.
  5. Hey Guys. I recently installed the "Critical Update" to 10.9.2 and now all of a sudden I am getting this Anyone have this happen to them? If so How do I fix it?
  6. It keeps telling me that my copy isnt authorized. Which is weird since it works in logic x and is totally authorized. I don't want to reauthorize it since I'm out of them now. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the sandboxing of garageband.
  7. Thanks folks!!! I'm starting to use Garageband a whole lot more for exactly that purpose. My only gripe with it is the inability to use BFD 2. But hey the drummer stuff is super awesome and I can always wait to dump the project Into logic to change my drum sounds. And Garageband ios seems perfect for when I'm on the go which is a whole lot.
  8. Thanks David, I meant more than 8 tracks simultaneously on Mac OS. Also Happy Holidays to you.
  9. Just wondering if the new garageband got rid of this limitation. I haven't been able to find it anywhere in the "manual" So far really digging this app again. It makes it pretty easy to collab with some chums of mine. Not all of them are willing to get logic. Thanks.
  10. When I said no automap I meant I had to delete it from my system. Seriously it's the exact same problem I had except it even affected all my controllers. Again apologies if you already tried that. Midi monitor wouldn't pick anything up for me until I had gotten rid of it and did a restart.
  11. Oddly enough I just came here looking for an answer to that question except with a compact 25sl. It pretty much bricked my whole system as far as software intruments went. If you have automap going get rid of it. That's what brought mine back to life. I don't think automap plays well with logic X. If you aren't running automap then I don't have a solution for you sorry.
  12. Did you try three fingers? I can't remember off the top of my head since I'm not in front of my computer right now but I'm like 75% sure that works. I've got three finger drag set up in my track pad preferences though
  13. Of course those jerks go and do this right after I buy v-control and meldodyne. Ah well. Some of the new features look super sweet. I am particularly interested in how the drum designer works. I know it's the first day and all but is there anyway to get it working with leopard at all?
