Hey fellows, Thanks in advance for the help. Well I'm in the market for a used MacBook Pro. I've gotten a lot of years out of my 2009 Mac mini. Mostly I just record myself with ez drummer or bfd2 being the only VI's I use. However I've started doing more live recordings with real drums. My current rig really chokes up when I start doing any sort of audio editing so I figure it's time for a newer one. I've found quite a few within my budget which is about $1500 Canadian. They are all from between 2012-2015. None of them have 16gb of ram they are all mostly 8gb. Is 8 enough for editing drums? I also don't really understand the different i5/i7s. Is there a difference? Maybe a website/resource that would explain it to me like I'm 5? If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be great. My interface is an eleven rack and I'm really not looking to upgrade that. I read in some threads about usb audio dropouts. Is that a problem in some of these older ones I'm looking at? Maybe I would just be better off upgrading the ram and hard drive in my Mac mini? I've started traveling a lot for work which is why I'm looking at a laptop.
Thanks again for the help and also reading my ramblings.
