  1. Thanks David! Think there's any way to automate the shift and capture the same effect? Everything I've tried hasn't really done the trick.
  2. Hey all - There is a lovely, glitchy sound that happens whenever I change the settings on certain Waves or reverb plugins, making it sound like the instrument is warping into being from another dimension. I can never seem to capture this effect through regular automation. It really only happens when plugins are cycled on the fly while listening to playback. Any thoughts on the best way to capture this happy accident? Thanks! M
  3. Hello all - Using Logic X with my Scarlett 2i2 without the class compliant mode fix, I had a few weird glitches and garbled bits of audio. Combing through one of my files, I realized one of them was kind of spectacular. What was originally a clean ascending backing vocal become scrambled and schizophrenic, and I kind of love it. [soundcloud] [/soundcloud] Any thoughts on how to duplicate this sound? I've done a few experiments with cutting up a similar part and sliding the regions around, but its lacking a certain je ne sais quoi. Let me know if anyone has any suggestions. M
  4. UPDATE: The update solved it. I'm ashamed to call myself a Logic Pro Help community member.
  5. Hello all - I have been trying to open several .logicx files from another mixer. Every single one is crashing on open. Some of them will crash immediately, others will display the loading audio files window for a few seconds before the causing Logic X to "close unexpectedly." Any ideas? Partial error message below. 6. One more update: Any thoughts here? I'm assuming there is an illegal character someplace, but this seems incredibly stupid. M
  7. Hello all: I'm doing a fairly large scale mix to picture project and seeing this error message repeatedly: Bad file name or volume name (perhaps zero-length) (Error -37) Most of the time it appears to have little effect on the actual content, but in a few places there have been missing clips, samples, etc. Presumably this is because of some issue with the file naming of the clips, but I have very little control over this. I'm not going to call the producer and insist that the editor rename all of his clips to suit my finicky DAW. I cannot seem to find anyone with this issue elsewhere on the internet. Any thoughts on this? QUICK UPDATE: The error file actually are missing from the session. Thanks, M Relevant details below: Logic Pro 9.1.7 32 bit OSX 10.7 Mac Pro 2.8 Quad Core Xeon, 16GB RAM Coming in from Final Cut Pro 7.0.3 New project for each, not important into existing file
  8. Thanks for the quick reply David. Snap to absolute value should absolutely be a default setting. Jesus. Learning new software is my least favorite activity. I hope Logic is worth it! M
  9. Hey all - I'm working on a project now where I'm cutting up a stereo file, then copying, cutting, pasting, and looping to create a new structure. All basic stuff, but this is my first Logic project. I'm having a horrible time trying to copy a piece of audio then paste it later in the file at the play head position. The playhead is not snapping to the downbeat, and once the region is pasted it won't snap back either. Is there an easier way to do this? I've read the Marquee tool can be used but can't figure out how. Cheers, M
