  1. The interface definitely works with Logic. The software will be in the box or available through Presonus' website.
  2. I agree with Ski. Or at very least, I would try out the 414 on whatever vocals you are recording first. I have a 414, and I use it on guitar and vocals all of the time, and it's great for my voice, but I've definitely had other singers try it, and switched to a different mic immediately. The 414 also clips on the mic pretty easily, so if you have a singer with a big dynamic range that can't move off the mic when they get loud, it can be a problem as well. Don't get me wrong, I use the 414 A TON, but it's a lot of money to spend on something you haven't tried out yourself to make sure it works for you.
  3. The demo in the keynote said that you can sync the iPad Garageband files with Garageband on the Mac. Since Logic opens Garageband files, I imagine this will be pretty seamless with Logic too. I do kinda wish it had some type of mic with it, similar to the ONE.
  4. Applications Folder Utilities Folder Or just search in Spotlight.
  5. Is the QT movie in the project? To export your project to the QuickTime movie 1 Open the Sound Settings dialog by doing one of the following: • ChooseFile>ExportAudiotoMoviefromthemainmenubar
  6. Hello All. Not sure if there's a way out of my situation. Not the end of the world if there isn't, but I thought I'd pick your brains to see if anyone has gone down this road. So - Tracked some drums yesterday with 8 mics. We did 11 takes. I wanted to comp a couple of areas of the drums, so I grouped the tracks, and went in to Quick Swipe Comp the tracks. Everything worked beautifully as it is supposed to - I swipe a piece of take 4 on the kick drum mic/track, and all other mics/tracks get swiped to take 4 as well. etc. One problem - One of the takes (take 4), for 5 seconds or so, I had only record-enabled the mic on the top of the snare. I quickly realized nothing else was recording, and stopped everything, then record-enabled everything, and went back to work. Well, not really thinking about it at the time, when I start comping, I notice that the takes for that particular mic aren't comping like everything else. Even though it's in the group, when I comp, nothing happens to the takes on that mic/track. I realize that because I made my stupid mistake while recording, that the file and region numbers don't match for this mic/track as well (because I only record-enabled this mic on take 4, takes 5-11 on this mic are numbered as takes 6-12). I deleted the take 4 file from the bin, and re-named all of the files so that they would match. Ungrouped everything, then re-grouped everything making sure that "Editing (Selection)" is checked in the group settings. Same result: If I comp mic/track 1, the six other mics/tracks follow suit, but for the snare top track, nothing happens. Again - I can manually make the edits here, and it's not that big of a deal. But there's probably an easy fix here I'm just not thinking of. Thanks in advance for the help.
  7. Under global tracks and then tempo.
  8. (like David asked): What specific instrument are you talking about?
  9. Right click on file(s) or folder(s). Choose "compress."
  10. Hmmm. What do you mean by "won't change"? Is it possible that you are changing the velocity value but that instrument isn't made to make different sounds (or trigger different samples) at different velocity levels? What are you seeing as far as the velocity not changing? Can you change it in the Piano Roll? The Event List?
  11. I see what you mean now... cools.
  12. I want to say I first installed Guitar Rig about a year ago. So I'm not sure what the process was previous to that point, but there is a stand alone version of Guitar Rig and an AU plugin. You get both if you purchase Guitar Rig. The AU plugin simply shows up under Audio Units under the plugin inserts section of any channel strip. There's no side-chain to it at all. I'd post a screen shot, but I'm not at my home computer right now.
  13. This is incorrect. There's no side chain needed to use GuitarRig with Logic. Follow adamjmusic's instructions.
