  1. Let me be a bit more clear and give a use case. Lets say this band goes back home this weekend with a rough mix of 9 songs. They all thought they loved what they heard and all nine songs had the same drum aux settings set up. A week later, after listening in various playback devices, they call me up and say, "hey mike, we love it but I think the drums are a bit too loud throughout the entire CD, can you bring them down a bit globally?, oh and there is a little too much verb on the vox as well, can you cut a bit of that globally as well?" So instead of just going to song 1, bringing down drums, and vox verb, and pasting the new settings on the remaining 8 songs, I now have to go through all this save as and import regions for such a little tweak? Ya dig what Im getting at here?
  2. I guess. I just tried it and its a pain in the ass. Why cant i simply replace settings on the auxs. I dont get it.
  3. OK, now that i am testing this with a huge mixer setup, It will not let me replace AUX settings, only audio track settings. Once i select a aux from the list, replace gets disabled. I have 33 Audio tracks sent to around 8-9 different auxs. If I try replacing audio tracks that are assigned to any of these, i get a prompt to choose which auxes to replace I guess, but trying this all at once with all the tracks gets crazy and is definatley a nightmare. Am i doing something wrong?
  4. Oh sweet! I just tried your flow, Save As no longer keeps the previous project open like it used to so this works perfect!!!! OK so the whole Save As and not copying audio files issue is now sorted for me. Now onto the import audio settings thing. Let me fiddle around more with this and I will try to explain my frustration with more specifics.
  5. Is this not kind of dangerous? You mean: Save song 1 open up the bin, select all, delete Save as song 2 Go back to Song 1 and close without saving?
  6. No I am working with packages. I like to keep everything separated. I got bit too many times in the past with forgetting to update the recording path when doing the save as thing. I think the packages are safer in this aspect. No?
  7. Crap, sorry David, I meant package. Let me digest the other stuff you wrote and I will be right back.
  8. Hi all, Long time Logic user but just recently upgraded to X from 8, 9. I have an upcoming recording of a buddies rock band and I have not done this in a while so please bare with me. I am hoping someone can give me some suggestions on how to go about my workflow to keep it as close to what Im used to doing in the past. The following was my normal workflow. Create a new project from my studio template. Save as Song 1 Track drums and scratch track guitar bass Save Save as Song 2 Close Song 1 Remove all the regions and files from Song 2 because unchecking copy assets doesn't work like it should Repeat steps 3 - 7, rinse repeat until the band has recorded all their songs. Mixing : This is after overdubbing guitars. bass, vox, etc on each song. Open song 1 Mix Copy audio config / mixer settings Open song 2 Paste audio config / mixer settings tweak a bit here and there rinse repeat The issue today is, where has Copy / Paste mixer settings gone to? I read that it has been removed and to now use selective track importing but playing around with this seems to be a complete nightmare. Also, the Save As command while unchecking include assets is still copying over my audio files and regions. ( I am saving as a project vs folders FYI) and this is something I would have thought got fixed long ago. Is there anyone that could maybe offer some suggestions on doing the above with Logic X? I am open to anything that can make this weekend go a bit smoother. Thanks in advance.
  9. Update, This is still broken in 10.1.1 and dangerous as hell! Got bit last night during a 24 track recording during an auto punch.
  10. Same problem here with Bass Amp Designer or Guitar Amp Designer. Thought it would be fixed with 10.1.1 but bug still exists.
  11. Would you consider it a bug or is it actually trying to do something that we are not familiar with? Some sort of feature?
  12. No midi controller however I do have a midi keyboard hooked up at all times. Barely gets used. Re: template. I am pretty sure it is a copy of an empty one that I created from scratch. It has quite a bit going on in the routing dept so I would hate to build a new one, but I guess I will have to give it a shot. Worst thing about this is I cannot reproduce it on the fly. It just happens every so often and drives me crazy. I have a feeling it has something to do with setting a marque position as it seems to happen more often if I set a marque locator (click on the bar, press (0) to go to that spot and click (*) to start recording for an auto punch.
  13. Hi, Wondering if any of you have stumbled upon this before. Every once in a while, I will have my various tracks armed and ready for either recording or handling an auto punch and I go and hit the toggle record key (*) and I will end up getting the bounce dialog. After canceling out of the dialog and returning back to my arrange window, All of my armed tracks have randomly changed. This makes it a complete pain to tell the band to wait while I have to go back and re-arm the correct tracks. IS this some kind of bug that I can't seem to find out there on the web or do I have something set up wrong. I have been using Logic since the emagic days and have only had this happen in the latest version. Any help is much appreciated.
