  1. Yep, the frame rate is still afwul. Though the lag didnt appear on my system since 10.8.3 update. J
  2. As far As Ive been able to collect the scattered information there was an issue with Core audio in ML. But it is not 100% certain. As far as Im concerned the main thing is that things improved J
  3. The interface acts much smoother now when using multiple EQ spectrum analyzers in high resolution mode. J
  4. Everything runs smoothly here now. No more lag. And also solo mode now works properly when changing takes. Regards J
  5. I had same phase issues on some instances of multitrack drum editing. Dont know why but sometimes artifacts occur during bounce. Bounce region in place command is usefull only for separate tracks and if you use the group clutch to bounce separate tracks sometimes they dont stay phase coherent. Aslo note that sometimes the slicing mode doesnt work nicely, I usually have more success with polyphonic mode with complex ticked. Here is what I usually do when bouncing down multitrack drums (I didnt came across any phasing issues when using this 2 methods): 1. option: Pack a folder with the whole flexed drum group and use the bounce replace all track and when done unpack the folder. Just make sure you use the bounce replace command inside the folder. If it doesnt work resize the folder region to 1 0 0 0 . If you want a backup of flexed files duplicate the folder (the track will duplicate and then just copy the content from the original folder track) before you use the bounce replace all tracks command with cmd+d and mute and hide it for further use. 2.option: the old way- create the same amount of audio tracks, route the flexed tracks to them via buses ascending and record in real time. hope this helps i any way regards j
  6. I have Komplete 8 with Kontakt 5.0.3 and everything runs fine here on 10.8.1 with 9.1.7. AS suggested turn of the convo reverb(click on the wrench button). Also make sure that you have multicore support(for AU) turned off in Kontakt options. Also NI recently released a 1.2 update for Studio Drummer which lowered the CPU consumption significantly, although the reverb is still pretty CPU hungry when turned on. Its in the Sevice Center or on NI webpage under support/Updates. Regards J
  7. The files convert automatically if the project was already saved with the include assets option. If it is not save you get the noise variant of the wave display. There should be no quality loss in comparisson. The only advantage i see is that with 32bit FP its hard to clip when bouncing internally (Pro tools Audio suite rendering or Reapers and Samplitudes region/clip base effects). Here is a nice article from MPV about the 32 FP in PT10: http://www.macprovideo.com/hub/pro-tools/pro-tools-10-the-benefits-of-32-bit-floating-point-audio Regards J
  8. I got 32 FP files countless times and usually Logic lets me import them but wont play them- the wave shows as noise. But when I convert them in the bin to 24 they play without any problems and the wave readouts are correct. I have Reaper which reads and writes 32 FP directly so I can listen to/and compare them directly and so far I havent noticed any difference in quality or sound between 32FP and converted to 24bit. Regards J
  9. You have Arrange by kind option in Finder(its been there when lion was introduced). click that wheel menu or right click in the windows empty space and choose arrange by name. The old file structure is still there. MacHD/Library/Audio/Plugins If you need user library click on desktop to open finder then press alt(option) key an choose Go in the Finder menu bar at the top and the user library should appear. Hope this helps in some way. Regards J
  10. Another report: Ive put 10.8 on my laptop, since it could not get worse than 10,7 . Initial tests are very promising. Its alot more memory efficient(if Activity monitor shows correct results). Safari is very quick. Logic(havent done much testing, but initial results are very positive): - the arrange scrolling CPU spiking is gone - the delay compensation bug for Waves Vocal rider seems to be fixed. Im not working in any project this week so Ill have alot of time to do some more testing. It is also the first time that everything works without problems (compatibility vise) when upgrading OS. Regards J
  11. Hey One of the nice options if you have a mac with a thunderbolt connector is this expresscard adapter from Sonnet: http://www.sonnettech.com/product/echoexpresscard34thunderbolt.html There is a compatibility chart on their site for many brands, however UAD is not listes, so I think you should mail them about the comaptibiity. Regards J
  12. AS Triplets said try playing around with the audio settings in preferences. ON my MBP i get the best results with threads set to automatic(it sees al 8 cores) and process buffer range to medium. I change the io buffer depending on the load. The thing is that Logic cannot spread the load of a single instruments to multiple cores, so youll se more cores used as the number of your channel strips rises. Also create an audio track and choose it in the arrange when playing- this will prevent the Live mode Logic enters when an instrument is armed and can easily cause CPU spikes. If you still get uneven core usage results you can try to even out the load with use of Aux chanells. REgards J
  13. Glda youve found a temporary workaround. My situation is on stereo or mono audio tracks which receive sidechains ia bus, so your solution unfortunately doesnt apply. Hopefully his will get resolved soon. Regards J
  14. Yep its a side chain bug with certain plugs- I have a same issue with Waves Vocal rider and some other plugs when using side chain inputs via bus. (I have other hosts and Ive tested the AU versions of Vocal Rider and it functions properly in all of them except Logic) It causes the delay compensation to stop working on the channel with the side chain. I had similar bug issues with 9.0 version and was corrected with 9.03 and now the damn thing reappeared with 9.16 and 9.17. Ive sent feedback to apple and I suggest you do the same. I just hope they fix this soon because its very annoying. REgards J
