  1. Wait, I thought all Apple Loops were royalty and copyright free? Am i missing something? Is it just royalty free? That would indeed by odd.,...
  2. Sorry for the hijack, but thought it better than starting a new thread. I think I have everything setup correctly, aside from a few quirks, when I start from a new template. However, if I open any older track, it simply does not update the information on the iPhone, and I can't access many of the parameters. Is there something I am missing? I also seem to be getting a nasty midiloop when trying to change banks of faders on the AC-7. Help. This seems really cool.
  3. Did you ever get it up and running? Did you also have to download Tcl/tk? as it says on the Cecilia website. I am very interested in checking this out as well. Also of interest, is GrainMainFrame that was reviewed on Create Digital Music. Is it possible to get any audio from a standalone into Logic using an external instrument?
  4. Thanks for looking into this. I stopped upgrading LIVE at 6, so I am on 6.0.10. And haven't yet upgraded to Logic 9, so still on 8.0.2 I think. Still no love, but there are usable workarounds. I hadn't been working this way for a year, but don't remember this issue before. Probably a pref somewhere. I did try using rewire LIVE mode but this had no significant effect.
  5. Hi all, Been awhile and I am just getting back into tinkering with Logic. I have what seems like a strange behavior, but I am sure it is just a preference awry somewhere that I forgot or got changed in the year. So, I am using LIVE as a rewire slave, I have am 8 bar loop set up in Logic starting at bar 2. Whenever I start this track from Logic, the output from LIVE is off from the click, but if I start from LIVE (which starts at bar 1) everything is in sync. I have noticed that when the loop is running in Logic, it actually loops to something just before the start of bar 2 (i can clearly see a 1 in the bar reader at the bottom quickly before a 2). Help!?!?
  6. From a public health perspective, this is absolutely ludicrous. And shows the absolute madness of some of the people that we vote into political office. Madness I tell you!!! Anyone worth a grain of salt (hehe, see what I did there), knows that salt is necessary to cooking, if not life.
  7. So, I have been off the forum for awhile (though no-one will have missed me, I suppose). Life took a tanget. Also, HD died. Looking at a new one, finally. Would a 320 Gig Western Digital 5400 RPM, SATA II with 8 MB cache be sufficient for Logic and Ableton work? I know 7200 would be better, but finances and heat generated in my 2006 Macbook are a concern. Thanks. AB
  8. So, the addition of firewire 800 on the 13" is good. lower prices on 15" is good. Loss of expresscard isn't great but meh (I don't use it). The lack of anything about Logic is, again, disconcerting. Though maybe we will see/hear something in the next day or two? There were rumors of Soundtrack pro going to 3 and that wasn't born out in the keynote so......
  9. true, but the firewire is at least a plus that many tbought would not return to the 13". also, the 15" is priced much lower to start, though most will still prefer a more elaborate version. still think it's a plus over the last update. and good that snow leopard is a relatively inexpensive upgrade.
  10. Pretty big update to the hardware side. 13" Unibody is now a Macbook Pro with sd card slot, firewire 800, better graphics and still reasonably cheap!!!! Also, backlit keyboard, and upto 8gb of RAM! 15" starts at 1699 now! Woohoo. Hopefully logic update. Snow leopard update will only be $29. Awesome.
  11. Can I just say that this is very annoying in Logic. Why would Apple, the company that makes Logic include green loops with no ability to actually do one of two things: 1) have the loop sound like it does in preview, while: 2) being able to modify the sequence I mean, it is the most assinine thing in the world not to have put the effects on inserts for these loops.
  12. I get this too, but isn't there an option to not see the warning again? I never tried it, so I don't know whether that would be universal or only for that particular loop.
  13. Sorry to hijack, but here's a question: For those of us on a budget, how realistic is total ITB work (composition, mixdown, self-mastering). Now I obviously realize that it mostly comes down to what the person can do with the tools that he/she is given, but there has to be a gut feeling as to what a person, like myself, with only ITB components and as a hobbyist can realize. Thanks, and sorry again for the hijack.
  14. ? More and more research shows we've been at it at least30,000 years. Probably longer. I stand corrected! Good to know and actually quite affirming. I suppose I was thinking of more structured music, but then who knows?!?! thanks. Even more evidence for the overwhelming importance of music.
