  1. Here's another one but you will have to move fast because they don't last long on Apple's site http://store.apple.com/us/product/G0NP0LL/A/refurbished-mac-mini-23ghz-quad-core-Intel-Core-i7 Since it is Apple they might ship to UK. Tom
  2. Here is quad core for sale: http://www.amazon.com/Apple-Mini-MD388LL-Desktop-VERSION/dp/B007477COO/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1426688684&sr=8-2&keywords=mac+mini+quad+core+i7 HTH, Tom
  3. Here is a link to all the current FCASORIA themes for Logic x: http://logicxcasoriathemes.jimdo.com/themes-for-10-0-7/ Have fun! There are some really nice ones in there. Tom
  4. I don't know about you, but when I go to the App Store and click on Purchases one of the options that shows up for download is Mavericks, so you may be able to roll back to 10.9 that way. Tom
  5. Well...you can, but...it's a LOT of work. First you need to download and install Xcode (free from the app store), then go to GearSlutz.com and read all the posts in the threads on modifying the GUI in LPX, working you're way through what the people are doing in that thread, and then looking at the spread sheet that Juss linked to in a post previously on this page to see if you can find where what you want to modify is located and maybe even PM FCasoria (who has done remarkable things with new skins) to see if he knows where the things you want to change are located. It will not be simple and easy, though if you are persistent you will eventually be able to get it done. Also, somewhere in the really long thread there is (or was) a skin labeled LP9 but I don't know if it really looked like LP9 since I never owned 9 and did not try that skin. If you find it try it knowing it may or may not work because it may have been for LPX 10.0.5 or 10.0.6 and was never updated to work in 10.0.7 HTH, Tom
  6. Thank you, Edgar. I'm eagerly awaiting the rest of the book at the end of this year. I also want to compliment you on your graphics/pictures because they are so ledgeble and not so dark that they are hard to read. Unfortunately the pictures in David's book are hard for me to read (too dark) and interestingly enough so are the one's in the main book for Cubase 7. Tom
  7. I finally realized the problem is because the original Gold Orchestra came with Kompakt Player and that is what Mavericks is refusing to install because it is no longer supported, and there is no way I can separate it and just install the sample library and use it in Kontakt. However, I also found out that I can use the old serial number to upgrade to the current Play 4 version of Gold Orchestra Complete for only $99, so that is the route I'll go. Of course that also means I'll have to use an iLock dongle but sometimes you have to dance with the devil, so to speak. Tom
  8. In order to reinstall Logic X you have to first uninstall it (trash it) and then when you go to the App Store to purchased apps it will show up and you can reinstall it. Tom
  9. Thank you! That was just exactly what I was looking for. Tom
  10. Is there any way to change the subdivision lines in the Piano Roll view? It is now set on 1/16 note subdivision and I haven't found any way to change to say, 1/8 or 1/32, etc. In Cubase it resets according to the quantize level; is there anything similar in Logic X? Thanks, Tom
  11. Eric, that is the best explanation I have ever seen on the "disk dilemma" ; it is clear, concise and to the point. Thank you! Also, should you still leave 20% of head room on an SSD drive? Tom
  12. Wow! Jordi comes to the rescue once again. When i opened the Audio Units Manager Omnisphere was there but was listed as failed, so I put a check mark in the box on the left, rescanned and it passed and it is now available for use. Thank you once again Jordi! Tom
  13. I have two Mac Mini's. One has a 2.3 gig quad core i7 with a 1 terabyte platter drive and Omnisphere shows up in all the hosts it should namely Cubase Elements 7, Cubase Artist 7, Garage Band X, and Logic X. The other one is a 2.6 gig quad core i7 with a fusion drive (BIG mistake; I should have gotten the one with the 256 gig SSD for the same price instead) and Omnisphere shows up in Cubase Elements 7, Cubase Artist 7, Garage Band X, but it won't show up in Logic X; however Kontakt 5 and Garritan Aria Player do show up. Any ideas on how to get Omnisphere to show up in Logic X on this machine? Thanks, Tom
  14. Thank you Jordi! I was hoping either you or Eric would know the answer and you got it first! Somehow when I was trying to change the velocity curve on the keyboard I reset the channel also; it was set to channel 13 which showed up where you said it was. I have now reset it to channel 1. Thank you again and now I can get on with working my way through David's book. The more I learn about Logic X the more I like it and think I'm going to just let Cubase sit there mostly but maybe use it for some composing using the chord track, which Logic X doesn't have an equivalent for. Tom
  15. I have several third party soft synths (Garritan Aria Player, Kontakt 5, & Spectrasonics Omnisphere) that all of a sudden (just noticed last night) will no longer trigger with my Oxygen 49 midi controller (i.e. I can't hear them while playing), however, all of the internal LPX soft synths will play and I can hear them while playing the controller. I have the center block in the control panel set on Custom and I can see that the controller is registering a note on at a velocity of 100 (what I have the controller set at) and it will even record the midi track in both the arrange window and on the piano roll and play back using the internal soft synths but not the third party ones. I must have inadvertently hit some switch that turned something off but I don't have any idea what it was; anyone know the answer? BTW, they work just fine in Cubase Artist 7.5 and Cubase Elements 7. Also, this morning I trashed LPX and re-downloaded and installed a new copy and that did nothing to help this problem; and the LPX qwerty keyboard does play the third party soft synths. Thanks, Tom PS I just discovered that it won't play the internal B3 either, but it does play all the other internal soft synths.
