  1. Howdy fellas, Technically, due to Logic's internal floating point mixing system (don't remember whether it was 32 bit or not), sending all drums for example to a bus collectively, which would make the respective bus clip heavily on the meters, solely clips at the mix bus right? Like it would go straight through into the mix bus untouched, even though the bus in question would reach a level beyond +10 dBFS, and then clip at the last frontier of the DAW, which is the stereo bus, right? Or has anybody encountered problems drawing something completely out at one point and pulling it back on another? I know that Logic has hiccups here and there that one might encounter which would lead to better keeping everything below 0. Thanks in advance. Mike
  2. Hey there fellas, I have two rather simple, technical questions about L9: Does cutting a track at non grid positions change the track's position / moving the parts slightly because of the non grid cut? Does logic bounce latency free without plugins engaged except volume changes / panning? Mike
  3. Not so fond of ditching my Waves plugins, even though I could recreate them with Logic's. But okay, I get what you mean, heard of it as well, but never with Waves, shite.
  4. yeah, it is set to all, but I've encountered that creating intricate busing with a deeper concept will cause trouble and has to be really thought through; guess logic is not built for that purpose, I should do it more like on my SSL, sending all buses directly to Stereo, avoiding interwoven bus structures.
  5. Oh, with plugins, the first instance (bus) gets a lot dough, the rest is mostly gathering again and parallel stuff. *Update* Maybe it is not such a good idea in general to route stuff around so much and instead always feed the busses out to stereo? That obviously has never created any issue for me; should maybe be a general recommendation to logic users on this board?
  6. Without any plug-ins at all, just signal routing? Can you share an example? Attach a project file to this thread? Hm, I'd have to recreate it, damn, I could do it though. But i think, what would be more productive is to ask for a solution to my planned setup? In general, is it gonna cause problems if I create on one side a chain of let us say 5 busses into one another and the rest being simply routed through one bus? Shouldn't logic delay the whole playback so everything accommodates? No matter what side is built out to whatever far end? I have delay compensation activated on all tracks by the way. I might have done a routing mistake in relation with the signal processed itself, delaying it I guess; or logic might as well be just able to built up a three bus stretch without problems max?
  7. Hey fellas, I been working with Logic Pro for a long time now and thought today about redesigning my workflow layout in terms of busses, sends et cetera. Now, I noticed if you create rather weird, not so logical structures, it will delay and be out of sync of the rest of the track. Does that mean in theory that if I create a bus structure for the drums, I have to create the exact same interstage with the guitars and vocals for example with the same amount of intersections? Mike
  8. Hey guys, How can I let two stereo images appear as one stereo instance in logic without converting and bouncing hassle? Also what I noticed, if I pan a mono file left in logic, it becomes louder, alright, I can live with that, just turn the volume down but as soon as I bounce them in place (two to one stereo file with regarding the volume / pan information bounce in place), they drop in volume, which changes the pan law again? Why can't logic stick to whatever rule you set up? This is just confusing. My ssl console has a none compensated -4.5 dB rule right?
  9. could you elaborate on that if you can spare a minute? does that mean logic really does affect the original audio by stretching, changing its body of information?
  10. No, that's not what I want. I accidentally set the template to 88 and imported the 66 BPM drums from another logic project into that one. I did all the processing, where I put lots of effort into and realised it later on. I mean, it's not that I couldn't repeat my mix I did on the drums but I'd appreciate it if it didn't affect the audio and all that I have to do is to adjust the new printed tracks to the originals's positions. Thanks in advance and your help is most appreciated
  11. Hey there, does Logic influence a track, in terms of a stretch / time correction, when imported to a project? I accidentally took a recording at 66 bpm and put it in a 88 bmp template, did all the analog editing, printed and came across that mistake at the end of my processing chain. Can i just change the BPM because all it does changing the grid and time-correct the printed, processed tracks or did the project also affect the tracks's original information? Mike
  12. Howdy fellas, I've risen from the dead and savage you with a rather simple question: Does Logic's limiter affect the sound leaving output 1-2 if it's not touching the threshold? Mike
  13. during the testing phase, there were no reports of severe issues which on the other hand had occurred before they officially released lion so I presume we're good to go. Just hope my lynx firewire works.
  14. What do you thing the Focusrite Isa one is? I'm indescribably happy with my focusrites but I was just looking for some similar that happens to be in the same price range.
  15. Howdy, I'm currently scavenging for a simplistic preamp without any fancy EQ features, compression, nor a/d conversion. I'm fortunate enough to have replaced all my crappy recording equipment with a Fireface 800, 2 x Focusrite Isa one and a proper set of high quality microphones. Now the only thing that is missing are couple of preamps to push all these little babies to a strong / transparent / high-quality level and feed my logic pro sessions. This being said, I heavily dependent on software plugins and "after the recording editing". Though there is an impressive number of "three" urei replicas in my repertoire, this is not enough to properly mix a project ( I end up using them mostly for small applications such as vocals or guitars). I hope there are a few preferences at the back of your mind you would unhesitatingly suggest for my needs. As being not in the position to spend a fortune on outboard gear and the most expensive neve amps of all time. I go for the big sounds out of small pockets theory. Thanks in advance
