  1. I switch between ES2 and Alchemy. I seldom touch my synthmaster which has the most presets that I know. If you started sound design, Alchemy will accompany you for a long time.
  2. I want to change 1 beat with 3 division, not 4.
  3. In Logic Pro, when you change the time signature in the transport bar, the piano roll will automatic change its grid. Now in Logic Pro X I wanna write a song in compound timing ,4/3,6/8....etc, the piano roll gird do not change automatically.
  4. Nope, but I only do one or two track at any give time. LPX just have more easier GUI control than Protools. I am not key command freaks. I never did 128 tracks, recording, editing and mixing, so I dunno how Protools edge over LPX on this.
  5. One of my friend got all his app on HD and all sample(Kontakt/EastWest) into SSD. Sample on SSD as East/West perform better. He is using MBP and has his superdrive to remove to make way for SSD.
  6. I turn off advance setting like score and surround, I think it help a little.
  7. I update lion to 10.7.2 and find my self load Logic Pro 8 like all other app.
  8. In the future all you'll have to do is record a single note. Then you'll be able to copy it, paste it, repeat it, resize it, edit it, mutate it, quantize it, tune it, pitch it, flex it, transform it, change its formants to make it sound like any instrument you want, and build an entire song out of that single note. With filter, ADSR and LFO too.
  9. Well, I used to sell audiophile. I used to setup tunable and it is still hot in the market. I got to setup 1950s or above record. It sound a lot more detail and depth than our current digital standard. Especially in orchestral recording, the strings in LP sound more like a group of string than one big lump of string in CD. When I did some shows, it was always the LP sound that attract lot of attention(hobbyist or bypass) unless you do a AV setup.
  10. Just wanna share. I alway find that positioning the monitor to the best location is more helpful. Before I go into pro stuff, I do a lot of audiophile setup. I need to find the best location for speaker as my client do not like the idea of room treatment. My knowledge is only using studio or bass trap. But back on the topic on monitor position, recently I bought a pair stand so that I move my monitor around. I mainly do composition and mixing so don't really care about space for recording. My bed room is about 11"Wx12"Lx13"H. I setup the 11"W side with left speaker away from wall about 1.5" and 4.5". I run a bit of test. 20 db dynamic different across whole audio frequency. Between peaks at certain frequency range can be 15 db. Then I change my whole setup facing the 12"L. About 4" and 2.5" away from walls. I get 15db dynamic difference across, and 10db with in certain range of frequency.
  11. Dealing many audio device with single end and balance signal interaction for many years, converting both type of signal is no good. Duet will suffer with true balance input monitor. Focusrite with non balance monitor by no mean better. If you must maintain both side the same kind of signal in order to get the best out of your system.
  12. Dunno this fit VIP. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dtp8YKKDxA0&p=1EE08A0B75EBEC8D The guy is CN Blue leader, Jung Yong Hwa. The lady is Girl Generation member, Seohyun. At 7:51 both of them need to a demo song for their virtual marriage program. Jung is using Logic to do demo.
  13. Why nobody mention Microsoft Mouse?Seriously.
