Hi globet, As long as you don't quit Logic, your last choice will be remembered. If you just launched Logic and the selected option is not "Create new tracks" (it seems to default to "Place all files on one track"), it's easy enough to hit the C key on your computer keyboard followed by Enter. J.

Hi klauzik, Reinstalling Logic hardly ever helps, especially when the problem is related to preferences that are stored in preferences files (those need to be deleted manually if you want to start from scratch). Please check that your Plugin Latency Compensation is set to All in Logic's Settings > Audio > General. J.

Hi @y30fi, I just tested both scenarios here on my Macbook Pro M2 on Sonoma 14.4.1 and I can't reproduce. I suppose it's either an issue with your project file, or a case of corrupted Logic preferences. For the latter you can quit Logic, locate the com.apple.logic10.plist preferences file in your user's Library folder (which by default is hidden in macOS), and either zip it then delete the unzipped original (as to keep a backup, just in case), or simply delete directly it if you don't care. Seems it was just a case of corrupted preferences file (or some setting I'm not remembering) because after trashing my Logic preferences file, it's back to displaying MIDI Out just fine. The recommendation for a separate MIDI monitoring app still stands though. Here's another choice which is perfect if you're outputting large amounts of data: ShowMIDI J.

Hi Adam, Which exact version of Logic are you using? I just noticed that in Logic Pro 10.8.1 (at least on my Intel Mac mini), the Output part of the MIDI Activity Display in Logic's LCD is not displaying anything when it definitely should. I would recommend you use a separate MIDI Monitoring application to make sure whether MIDI data is being sent out of Logic or not. A good, free choice is the Snoize MIDI Monitor. J.

Hi @Raoulsplace, Are you using region aliases at all? If not, that step wouldn't apply of course. Regardless, that option is indeed there: It's also there under the same menu: Maybe you can give a more concrete example? If you open or import that file in Logic, you should see separate regions with their original names. J.

Hi @cloud84, The chords triggered in those presets seem to be chosen based on the intended use as per the preset name. So "Songwriter Left Hand" are just triadic voicings one would play with the left hand on a keyboard (?), while "Guitar Open Chords" are voicings that for the most part include notes that happen to be open string notes on guitar. Also, a notable difference between the "Songwriter Left Hand" and "Guitar Open Chords" presets, is that the latter contains voicings that use 7ths and other harmonic extensions (6ths, 9ths, 11s, b13s). As for the choice of chords to be triggered by D# in both presets, the only explanation I see is this: Guitar Open Chords: D# is the major third of the B7 chord Songwriter Left Hand: D# (enharmonic equivalent of Eb) is the minor third of C minor Hope that helps? If it's not the Mic Mode, then another possibility would be that currently Logic and Garageband are not allowed access to the "Microphone" in System Preferences > Privacy & Security > Microphone. In that case, however, you should see a pop up letting you know when you record-enable an audio track: J.
