  1. Thanks Triplets! So Bounce In Place first, then Export. Just tried it - works great!
  2. Just exported a track with Flex Pitch on it, and the exported file did not have the pitch corrections. Is this normal behavior? Thanks!

    AIFF-C?

Thanks guys! Why is Logic saving in AIFF-C format when I select AIFF? Doesn't this imply that a conversion is taking place as the file is written (consuming time and resources)? Is there any way to override this?

    AIFF-C?

I select AIFF as my recording file format, but all audio is recorded as AIFF-C. Is this normal? What's going on?
  5. Is the track set to stereo or mono? Be sure that channel 1 & 2 are both mono.
  6. Thanks guys! Very helpful!
  7. I received 32-bit files from a client and want to import them into a new Logic project. The file import works ok, but new 24-bit audio files are created in the process. My questions is, are these new files truncated? Should I ask the client to re-send me 24-bit files instead to avoid the conversion? Thanks! ERO
  8. Thanks Davster! I'd love to know if there is any technical data available comparing Logic Pro to iZotope or others. Or what the highly experienced pros here recommend.
  9. Thanks Triplets... forgot to say that I'm also converting from 24 to 16 bit.
  10. I'm down-converting and dithering in Logic Pro and wondering if I'd get better results doing this in iZotope or Sample Manger? What's considered best practice? How does LP's conversion stack up compared to alternatives (for conversion)? Thanks! ERO
  11. I have a fairly large project with lots of tracks and plugins, recorded at 96kHz. When I open a new instance of Alchemy on a Software Instrument track, it distorts and overloads the Audio CPU meter. If I try to record on the new Alchemy track, I get a system overload audio/midi sync error. A new empty project at 44kHz works fine. An new empty 96kHz project also works but the load meters show more load on the CPU. I have tried everything I can think of... it sounds like a sample rate error, as if Alchemy is not operating at Logic's sample rate (96kHz). Or Alchemy is not distributing CPU load correctly. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks! ERO
  12. Make sure the sends on all 3 snare tracks are "Post Fader," and all sent to a single bus. Adjust the levels with the faders. Then record the snare mix on the new track, using the bus as the input.
  13. If I decrease the buffer size to 512, no distortion. Set buffer back to 1024, distortion. Sounds like sample rate mismatch - ugly crackles. Any idea what might be causing this?
