  1. Did anyone else notice the recommended (supported) system config? Mac Recommendations: • 2.0 GHz or higher processor • G5 PowerPC compatible - Intel Core2Duo or higher recommended • OSX 10.4.9 or higher • AudioUnit, VST 2.4 or RTAS capable host software • Native Universal Binary for Intel Macs SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL USERS: • 2GB or more of RAM • Dual Layer compatible DVD-ROM drive • 50GB of free hard drive space I've been a bit frustrated with Spectrasonics since Atmosphere stopped working properly (Leopard) in spite of their Rube Goldberg workarounds which caused more problems than they solved. However, I have so many tracks that rely on Atmosphere I had to buy in. My machine is a 1.8ghz G5 Powermac so it'll be interesting to see if I'll be able to use Omnisphere effectively. cheers Barry http://www.soundclick.com/studiobjazzproject
  2. This is a recurring topic which I also rehashed recently... Check out these threads, they should bring you up to speed! http://www.logicprohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=30141&highlight= http://www.logicprohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=30628&highlight=cleanup+project cheers barry
  3. I feel your pain. I'm having similar but different issues in the clean up process. It would seem that there is a premium on cleaning up "as you go" to avoid bloating the audio file folder simply to avoid future confusion. It's very difficult to click OK if there's the slightest chance you might be destroying vital files. Should this be ported to the UPDATE REQUESTS thread? A more in depth review of what exactly is meant by "Used in X other projects" would sure help.
  4. That's apparently the prescribed method BUT I can tell you that I'm still having problems proving that it works as you might expect. I'm still tinkering. I just ran the "prescribed" method on a project and to my amazement all the files that I deleted were copied back to my audio folder when I saved and quit Logic. >>>>> later that day... I haven't had any more issues. I'm a believer. Thanks again David!
  5. Could it be splitting files for some reason?
  6. Some of the projects I'm trying to clean up did start in 7 and migrated to 8... what effect would that have?
  7. David squared me away on that one and I'm looking forward to getting the results I'm looking for (more HD space!) The reason I went ahead and posted the video was to find out why files were being added to my project folder when I was using the wrong "delete." I thought it was kinda strange.
  8. Gotcha. First off... yes... however, be aware that Stylus runs in a unique way... it's not based on the same piano roll trigger system as you would use in Ultrabeat (a standard MIDI convention) They take complete "groove" segments - usually a couple of bars - and the chop them up and distribute them on a continuous chromatic grid. (Difficult to explain - easier to show real time) Each sound of the "groove" has it's own midi trigger, actually several if the same sound appears multiple times in a groove which are rendered like a staircase (chromatic midi run.) Also... be aware that it was intended to be a real time "groove" machine that would be well suited for hip-hop style stuff. There are several different ways you can manipulate the grooves. (I don't play that style and I still get some use out of RMX but I mostly use MIXOSAURUS these days. Which is real drums and a (more) standard sequencing convention.) You have eight channels of groove elements which you can trigger randomly from a keyboard in their entirety or you can make eight midi channels with a component in each which has a corresponding midi file which you can alter note by note. I think I'll make a little screen capture movie for you so you can see what I'm talking about. There's probably similar video tutorials available on the Spectrasonics page. I think I'll make a little screen capture movie for you so you can see what I'm talking about. I'll post a link later. Since I'm on a pre-Intel machine the wrapper for Atmosphere does me no good sadly. - I love the sounds! Omnisphere should be released soon... I'd still wait for it. All the Atmosphere patches will be included.
  9. <------same person - new user name) What do you mean by layering samples? Beware of Atmosphere by the way. It's a dead project and will not run under Leopard. Actually I'm pretty fed up with Spectrasonics. Have you checked out MIXOSAURUS?
