  1. I have all of David's books, all of Edgar Rothermich/ DingDing Music, Inc also. Those books and Chris Vandiver's blog... there are a couple more things on youtube. When it is cold and rainy outside and your sweetie is away... you can curl up with youtube and these guys books.....and 15 seconds later you are in the studio banging away!
  2. I moved all my samples and third party stuff to external ssd some time ago. It is allot easier to upgrade and keep track of.
  3. I am not at my setup now, but I think logic puts all the loops that are not apple loops, in a separate folder, may be called untagged loops. If the audio contains tempo information, Logic will attempt to use that depending on the way you set smart tempo. Mine will play the loops, but I have to flex time them or do some more work on them most of the time. My goal and I am most of the way there is to never record with a click track again.
  4. I saw that on idea on other post last night. I will certainly try it. It puzzles me that Logic has been the only item updated, then the issue started. I also plan to exam cable connections between input devices ... down to checking whether the mac keyboard itself has failes. Thanks for you input, all of you please keep tossing ideas out, I'll be back at it tonight and this weekend. I will report what I find
  5. I have had an issue since 10.7 came out. I've gotten the 10.7.2 now, Logic seems to stop responding to start, stop and just gets stuck as if you had a 2 beat cycle on, it doesn't show that in the ruler... I haven't change default template or anything that I know of. It does it on older songs and while trying to record. Seems to be random. I have to close logic and restart it to stop the cycling. Does anyone have a tip where I should start looking for the solution?

  7. I don't understand why apple cannot get a feature, back into Logic Pro whereby we can add a chord track in some fashion. Music Memo does this in a quick and dirty way, but it seems to be correct about 90% of the time, at least using simple chords. If we could get a faster way to put chords into the score.... we could be churning out simple lead sheets or Nashville number style charts every time we did a song...... even Band in a Box can do a chord chart from audio... PLEASE
  8. I got into the studio late tonight, and I just started slapping this transform on some very sloppy midi tracks entered with my Godin midi guitar... worked like a charm. After 20 years of this, why I never did two things at once in transform I'll never know... but it was great.... then I started using the "force legato" edit on thing and wow.... miracles never cease,..... Thank you David and the rest of the forum
  9. Thanks David. I don't see an attachment... I get the concept. I had not been successful in putting two operations together. So I am interested in your set. For some reason, my parameters don't... "hold".
  10. You know, this is another one of those things, that if we had a real macro command function that would affect the GUI or if Logic could work with Automator or applescript even.... we could be doing all kind of fun repetitive task. It's not something I would put at the top of my wish list. But I already use Automator for a million other things..
  11. The post are, in my opinion super short. This is where I have tried to attack them............by using transform, and identifying a min note value I want, then selecting and deleting. But I am missing something, seems like I should be able to use transform to filter short, and maybe even low volume midi events (at the same time) and make a preset to clean them out. Something I could save, as a permanent preset and re-use over and over........ but so far I am not getting it.
  12. I've been using a Godin midi guitar as an input device, triggers and records very well, except for many extraneous midi notes, it's really fret noise as you sort of .... really play. I've tried selecting them with transform... or forcing legato on the little troublemakers... but I think I'm missing a simple solution. Can anyone offer an easy trick I am missing?
