  1. I used Melodyne DNA in polyphonic mode on a bass track and it actually separated the pick noises and showed them as little squiggly lines separate from the notes. Deleted the noises and I got the attack of playing with a pick without all the noises.
  2. you need an interface not a mixer. http://homerecording.com/bbs/general-discussions/newbies/introduction-multitrack-computer-interface-recording-323561/
  3. Where it works well is when recording live. Load template "onyx1640i" and I've got 16 ch armed and ready with inputs already assigned within a few seconds. just hit record.
  4. go thru a DI to amp, Mic amp close and further away, Track all three. Put amp sim on DI track. Use the one(s) you like best, blend, pan, eq each differently, use different delays etc....and have fun.
  5. My bust ! When I updated to 9.1.3 it left a previous copy in the apps folder and I did rename it with the version number so I would not have to open the info to see which one it was. I'll duplicated it and rename the original back to "Logic Pro" and go from there................ It worked........thanks guys.
  6. My bust ! When I updated to 9.1.3 it left a previous copy in the apps folder and I did rename it with the version number so I would not have to open the info to see which one it was. I'll duplicated it and rename the original back to "Logic Pro" and go from there................ It worked........thanks guys.
  7. as stated I have Logic 9.0.0 and 9.1.3 that logic created when that update was installed and they are in the apps folder and have not been renamed. Logic 9.0.0 was and upgrade from Express 8 that is also in the apps folder?
  8. Just tried to update to 9.1.4 I have 9.1.3 and 9.0.0 in my apps folder. When it launches I get an alert telling me I must have 9.0 or higher ????
  9. I tried it in polyphonic on a bass track and all the string noise, clicks from using a pick show as little squiggly lines above to notes. I selected all the noises and deleted. Now the track sounds smooth but has the attack of using a pick but none of the noises. Also was able to locate and delete a feedback note in a guitar track and save the track..........very handy.
  10. I recorded 14 tracks with a Mackie onyx mixer, MBP and external drive for and hour. I got home and hooked the ext HD to my Imac. Then I opened it and created a region for one song that I wanted to create a project for and exported the region as audios file for each track to a new folder. opened new project and selected empty project 14 mono tracks. then dragged each track into new project. Now I want to add a track and my input options show 1-14 and 15/16 are grayed out. Problem is My Imac is running thru a Motu and have been mixing and Logic shows it as my core audio device. The outs selectable also show 1-14. Is there something embedded in the files that would cause this to see the mackie interface instead of the Motu? I have tried switching to built in sound, select apply on the Imac and it switches and I select Motu ultralite and apply and it switches back but should should 8 in/out buts does not change in the mixer ??? The original MBP recording project created by selecting a "mackie template" I created so it automatically loads 16 mono tracks with inputs 1-16 selected and armed.
  11. I did some playing with 3 vocal parts and found using flex time to align transients using the track with the best timing and aligning the others to it worked wonders.
  12. pretty cool..........first thing that stuck out to me is a nasty click/pop at .05 in the right channel intro........prob a bad crossfade where an edit was not right on the zero crossing.
  13. yep.......2 FW800 drives daisy chained with a FW400 interface hooked on to last drive.........no problems. I never eject/unmount unless needing one to be mobile. But then I think I'll get a small SSD for mobile recording so I don't goof up the mechanical drives dragging them around to a gigs all the time.
  14. I think you want to search for NODE(s).......... Linking 2 Macks with network cable and sharing load and info.... Both puters have to have same version of Logic and Node and I believe possibly same OS too. Just did some reading on it. Logic latency compensation is supposed to work seamlessly according to a book Im reading on the subject. Haven't used it but someone here will prob help you out
  15. Im running Logic 9 on a 2.4 with no problems. I don't use virtual instruments much Mostly tracking 8-16 at once. Can't imagine a 2.2 would be that much below the task. I track everything to ext drives FW800........haven't had more than 16 tracks that mix with plugs on a lot of tracks......so for so good. But i did upgrade to an Imac for the mixing part and leave the mobile tracking duties to the MBP Put your system specs in your signature.......it will help others help you and at some point the moderators will require it if you ask for future assistance.
