  1. if I understood, 1)create a midi track[1]. insert gr4 as a plugin. 2)create an audio track[2] (the track on which you'll record the "dry" guitar track). 3)side chain track [2] into track [1] by selecting this in the side-chain menu of guitar rig plugin (upper right corner). 4) record enable both tracks and record. tell me if I'm wrong
  2. thanks for the replies guys.. Anyway I think I'll have to use the sidechain mode, I'm not using rig kontrol but a fcb 1010 so I guess that's the only way for me..
  3. Hi guys, I need to record using Logic Studio and GR4, as if I were playing live. i.e. I need to record one track with all the changes I do during the track using a midi foot controller (clean/od/delays ecc..), and I want these changes to be saved to the track. Is this possible? Thanks in advance Marco Macbook Pro 4GB ram Logic Studio Guitar Rig 4 M-Audio 2626 FCB 1010
  4. So I'm struggling between these. I've read tons of articles and discussions, but in the end I can't make a decision, some say it's better the pro40, some the Profire and some others the Firestudio. Talking about the cons, I've read some posts regarding the strange behaviour of the Firestudio, maybe due to "bad" drivers ( but the post was in 2008 so I guess they fixed the problem if it were a real driver problem ), causing it to lose sync and to produce strange audio noises. Googling the Profire, I can say there are far less "issue related posts" regarding this interface compared to the others. I think this is the best place for asking this question, what interface would you buy? Are you happy with your own, if you have one? Thanks in advance
  5. Browsing a few sites looking for an audio interface I recently found this : http://www.focusrite.com/products/saffire/saffire_pro_40/ anyone tried it? I started a previous thread to find out which was the best between Profire2626 and Presonus Firestudio, but the Focusrite captured my curiosity, (it's also cheaper than the Profire and Firestudio) so if anyone have tried it please report in thanks M
  6. Hi to everybody, just wondering about buying an audio interface to use with Logic 9 / Mainstage 2. What would your choice be between M Audio 2626 and Presonus Firestudio? Adding that I'm planning to use it mainly for live mixing using the in/outs for effects/dynamics ecc.. in real time thanks M
  7. thanks again, by the way what do you mean with this "cpu/ram freeing up tricky type thingamajiggybobs"? thanks in advance
  8. Thanks for the advice! So with stereo outputs I could use, for example, ch.1 for a compressor and pan it hard left, ch.2 for a reverb and pan it hard right so I can create different "mono" outputs for channel 1 and 2 using "output 1-2"? I just hope latency is not too high using 8 in/outs simoultaneosly in real time... but using a firewire there shouldn't be problems, right? I'll check the SKB, it seems a really nice solution for me M
  9. Hi Guys... As a live sound engineer ( if I can call myself like this :])I've been thinking for a while about fixing the problem of bringing around a quite big outboard and replacing it with a Mbp and an audio interface. My goal would be using more or less 8 inputs and outputs, and use them like a real outboard (2x 31 band eqs, a pair of compressors, effects... etc) working only with a mixer, a sound card and the mbp. I could save various projects correspinding to different bands/venues, not talking about the room of analog racks Now my question is: What would your choice be between Mainstage and Logic? Is there the possibility in Mainstage to use mono outputs? (if I'm using it for an insert compressor, for example, I don't need the output to be stereo, I'm only wasting a channel out) thanks in advance, M
  10. Yeah! 2 keys instead on one, doesn't make that big difference... Thanks for your help!!
  11. Thanks to you for the reply! Anyway, I'm still stuck there, as I click on play it just hiccups there.. wondering if there is something to change in the preferences/options... (?)
  12. no hints? can someone tell me if this is possible or not?
  13. Hope now everything is ok with my post, sorry for the hurry ^^. I have an audio track in logic, it contains some regions, and every region contains an audio file. I want to play the track so the first file gets played and then it stops when it reaches a certain position. Then I want to click on play and want the program to resume the playback until the next point, and so on. I tried it with meta events, but i can only make it work in this way: i press "play" and then it plays until the first meta event I created to stop playback. Obviously, if i press play again without moving the playhead it just stays stuck in there. Is there a way to "resume" playing so i can create more meta events to stop the playback at further position and still being able to resume the track with a spacebar hit? Or is there any other way to achieve this goal? (Play until defined position, then resume playing from spacebar hit) thanks!
