  1. oh bravo Sir, bravo! you are both absolute stars
  2. but that is a super tip, thanks Jakob. How did I miss that controller page [facepalm]
  3. it works particularly well as you get the best of both worlds; the sustained notes (of a piano for example) and the latched arp. Just what I was after, thanks again
  4. mate, that's an excellent idea! Thanks David, I knew if there was a way you'd know
  5. I came across this issue again and searched it only to find my own unanswered question from eight years ago!
  6. Thanks for the quick reply David, much appreciated
  7. Apologies if this is basic, but I'm having trouble locating this info... If you select multiple audio files in the main window (right click selected audio regions, export as audio files, select WAV) do these WAVs contain timestamp info as per BWAVs? So they can be imported into ProTools at correct timecode position? Many thanks as always!
  8. wow, I never knew that method, thanks facej I do miss the spacebar option but this'll tide me over until it's fixed - I assume it must be a bug as the alternative names still have that hyperlink look to them. anyhoo thanks again
  9. After a recent Logic update I've noticed I can no longer load alternatives from the finder. Pressing spacebar on a logic file produces the screenshot and alternative sidebar as normal, but clicking the name of an alternative only produces the Mac error noise. Just wondered if anyone else is experiencing this or have an idea what's going on? Thanks!
  10. Thanks for the reply Atlas007 It's more a general problem with opening up the video to begin work, rather than the detail later if you see what I mean. Might just be my system. But generally speaking, I definitely need to use the event list editor more though!
  11. This is a pretty niche problem, but I'm working with movies in logic every day and have this issue: I'll need to write a cue at a certain point in the film (BITC not always included in movie), so I'll open the movie within my project, open the movie settings, and then start dragging the numbers to reach the exact point. This used to work fine when I got into this habit, but somewhere along the way of logic or Mac OS updates it stopped allowing me to drag the film position back in time. For example, say I'm starting a cue when someone blinks, I drag the movie position numbers but if I overshoot the blink and have to drag the numbers to go back in the movie timeline it just hangs on the frame of video I stopped on. So say I overshoot the blink and get as far as them opening their mouth, I'm just stuck with the shot of them opening their mouth. So I got more careful with my dragging, and didn't release the numbers until I was sure of the position. Except in the past month it's got even worse, where even though I haven't released the numbers, if I pause for too long I get that frame of video stuck. That is my issue, and if anyone has a suggestion to make the process easier I would be ever so grateful. I am reluctant to go down the route of entering the precise number, having subtracted the time elapsed from watching the video as it feels very clunky and unintuitive for selecting a cue start point. But I may have to with no other choice. Thank you for reading this incredibly poorly written post, and have a nice day ✨
  12. Can anyone recommend a string sample library (solo, ensemble, whatever) that has effective repeated legato notes at a moderate pace? 8dio's louré instruments would be perfect, but unless I'm mistaken you need to move from another note to then trigger the repeated ones. Many thanks!
  13. excellent, thanks wolfgerb! Should have realised it could be done via quick look, this will save me a lot of time
  14. I've been working with Logic's Alternative feature for a while now, but now that I'm working to a tight deadline I'm wanting to open specific alternatives from the outset. I'm wondering if there is a way to do this, rather than by default opening the most recent alternative and then choosing the previous one I wanted? I suspect there isn't, in which case I should probably go back to the old Save As way of doing things, and just use Alternatives for back ups along the way... thanks
  15. yeah, i've had that problem too. Another issue is that I used to open the movie in Quicktime 7, change the properties by muting one audio channel and mono'ing the other, but LPX doesn't read that either. I don't really like the audio extraction route LPX suggests when loading a movie either, as the extracted audio file doesn't move when you change the start point of the movie; only useful for adverts and things, not when you're scoring a cue 30mins into the movie! All in all, a real pain for tv & movie composing.
