  1. Ah yes I have noticed that. I noticed it most when using gain automation to completely silence a track on a downbeat. I have to drag it a little bit into the next measure for it to actually end on the downbeat. I still love Logic but that's partly because I've used it since 2008 so I am used to workarounds. Seems like there are more great alternatives now than ever before.
  2. Quick update on this. Things have been going quite smoothly so far but I noticed one consistent culprit and it isn't third party software. If I side chain Logic's Drum Kit Designer then there is latency on the project. In fact, I had to bounce-in-place the kick sample I was using from it and delete the Drum Kit Designer software instrument entirely. Just having it present in the session was causing latency, even if I was using a different source for the side-chain, which was very strange. I'm sure we'll eventually figure out what is really going on but I'll keep posting any updates I find.
  3. Okay quick update. This might help other people experiencing the same problem. I took David's advice and made a new session using only stock Logic plugins and instruments. Logic compressor on a Logic synth side-chained to a Logic kick. There was no latency during recording or playback. I am going to continue investigating to find out which third party plugin/software is the culprit.
  4. I have the exact same issue. I just upgraded my computer and upgraded Logic to 10.7.4. I will record a short video to showcase the issue and post here.
  5. Okay it worked THANK YOU VERY MUCH. You guys respond really fast, that's quite a convenience! I will now enjoy my reversed sounds.
  6. Okay I think I got it to work. Unchecked surround in the bounce and it kinda did it. The piano sound kicked in way to late though... didn't really do a true reversal, just less than half a second of reversal near the attack instead of fading in.
  7. I am going to try re-doing my process then, and try to bounce it as a mono. But how would I do this?
  8. Maybe a better question would be how do I turn an audio file into a mono track (the little circle), because I am able to reverse THOSE tracks. I just can't do anything to my converted MIDI track (whatever the hell that pentagon circle symbol means).
  9. After doing what I thought would be enough research to finally yield some sort of answer to my question, I still have nothing. I am trying to simply reverse an audio file that I have created. I first recorded a MIDI piano chord using East West Pianos Gold. After that I BOUNCED it as an AIFF. I then imported the audio file and went into my sample editor to the "function" drop down menu. I can't do anything (all gray). I have also tried this as a WAVE file, which didn't work. I also have tried EXPORTING the file as a WAVE and AIFF, which also didn't work. I have read other threads on here, and watched two tutorial step-by-step videos. Those didn't help at all. They would simply say "and there you go!" at the end, leaving them with a nice reversed audio file and me with nothing. I would appreciate any help, because as of now I can' do ANYTHING in the sample editor... kinda disappointing. I haven't had trouble like this for a long time. Thank you!
  10. Okay cool... I'll try calling or e-mailing them. Is phone or e-mail less of a hassle? Or is apple pretty easy to work with?
  11. Hey I recently had to reformat my computer, so of course after an entire day of struggle I finally tried to re-open my logic and re-input the serial number... only to realize that I had lost the "Installation Instructions" manual with the serial number inside of it. I am currently heading to another location where I may have left it, but in case that falls through I am wondering if there is any secure way to recover the serial number. Thanks, and sorry if this is the wrong forum again like the only other thread i've posted.
  12. Ah yes! There we go, I had to select Input #2, yessssss. Wow, thanks David. I tested this with the audio track set to Input #1 just to make sure it wasn't a fluke, and it wasn't. Man maybe this has been the source of my audio problems the whole time. Thanks
  13. I'm not sure what you mean when you refer to the input number, sorry. I have tried switching the order in which the Mic and the Output appear in the aggregate device menu, but I have a feeling that wasn't what you were talking about. Do you think this could be something unrelated to Logic? I'm pretty sure it works in GB so its strange that Logic rejects it.
  14. This feels like it's going to be a difficult question to answer... and you'll find out by the end of this post. I already finished recording audio for a recent short film, and I was using the MXL USB. 006 Mic the whole time. After I figured out how to make an aggregate device, things seemed to go moderately smooth (there were still a number of unanswered bumps along the way). Now I am trying to record more audio for a class that I am taking, and (of course) the exact same set-up that I had been using the whole time isn't working. I have an aggregate device set up for the MXL as the input, and the built-in output for the output (I'm using the headphones that I always have). I set the "properties" drop down menu for "aggregate device". I have the aggregate device selected in Logic Pro's audio set-up, and I have tried restarting the computer and quitting/reopening Logic numerous times... STILL nothing... no audio at all. Now in SYSTEM PREFERENCES the input menu shows that the MXL is actually working. When i tap the front of the MXL the input level rises. So, really, I am at a total loss. I don't usually even consult forums, but I feel like I have really reached a dead end here. Any help would be appreciated, and sorry if I left out any information that would be useful in answering my question. EDIT: Sorry, this belongs in the "Control Room" forum... well I guess it'll be bumped anyway... sorry about that.
