  1. Thanks! Yeah I saw that, but to be honest I'm still confused to what it really is and when it originated and why it originated in that one project. Perhaps they preview track has been in all my projects for years and I had no idea! But why this one added Surround I'll never know! I've been working with logic for 14 years as a film composer and have never had this issue before. But glad it's solved and thanks everyone for answers!
  2. Hi Jordi I found an answer in the forum. In the mixer I was shown if you press 'All' you can see additional channels that might have surround. I found a 'preview' channel that apparently Logic create automatically (I have never seen this before in the last 12 years I've worked with Logic!) and it had automatically made it in Surround. As this can only been seen in the 'ALL' mode of the mixer window and I normally view it in Tracks, I had no idea it was there. I just deselected the output of the preview track to no output, as I wasn't sure what would happen if I deleted that channel all together. Do you happen to know why there is this preview track?! Many thanks
  3. Apologies! Have found the answer in the forum! Can't see how to delete my original post. But all solved!
  4. Hi- I am trying to bounce a project in stereo, and it's bouncing in Surround, when I have no surround channels and cannot see how this is happening?! Has anyone got any pointers on what else I can check to see if I have something else turned on that I shouldn't etc? I've never had this problem before. Very odd. Logic Pro 10.6.3 MacOS Catalina 10.15.7 Processor 3.2 GHz 16-Core Intel Xeon W
  5. Hi all I have just upgraded Logic (see my signature for my system) and I am suddenly experiencing this weird problem that I saw in the forum a few people posted about several years ago but nothing recently. Whilst I'm working midi will randomly get muted within individual regions... In the new Logic when midi is muted in a specific region, in the main window the region itself will look empty. If you click on the region I find the muted notes. If i select the muted notes and hit M, they will unmute. But randomly throughout working, other regions suddenly get muted notes. Happens in different intstruments, and not always all the regions of that one instrument, could be just one region of one instrument and another or another instrument. Also can be just one note suddenly muting within one region! Attached a screenshot of one example of the 'empty' appearance after some notes randomly muted themselves yesterday. But this is happening constantly.... Anyone experiencing this? I've nothing else new in my system. But am now running all my samples off an SSD Drive and my Drobo is only being used for backups. I don't use any midi controllers on my actual desk. I have a trackpad and do all controllers from within Logic and kontakt. Would appreciate any advice! With thanks
  6. Hi I recently upgrade from Logic 10.3 to Logic 10.4.4 and not sure if it was the upgrade or just some general oddity... When Logic crashed in the past (i.e. not a manual shut down but when it just quit completely on its own) if I re opened from Auto Save, it would literally give me exactly the last moment I'd been working on. Nothing lost and was a god send! Now with this new version, it crashed two days ago and when I opened from Auto Save it had lost the last 3 hours work and opened where i'd started earlier that day. I then went to the back up choices and opened the last saved back up, but that was at the beginning of that days session too. In the last version, the auto save feature was so brilliant I hardly had to do manual saves (Ctrl + S ) as auto save always saved the very last moment. But now I'm very nervous and will have to learn to do manual saves very regularly as losing so much work was a nightmare. Has anyone else experienced this? I can't find posts on the forum or google about it. With thanks
  7. Thanks! I'll keep you posted. It's been a relief to have been able to work for the last two hours with no troubles at all!! All best, Alex
  8. Thanks so much for replying. I use a studio maintenance company here in London who recommend their clients when to upgrade as they continuously test libraries and plugins etc etc against the new upgrades. They have found numerous problems at the moment with 10.14.4 and today only recommended the upgrade to 10.12.6 HOWEVER I have just found one solve for this problem tonight, having had a day of the Studio Maintenance company running tests and upgrades from 11am-6pm with no luck. I opened the latest project that was having the most problems (it had crippled my computer) and replaced all the Spitfire Chamber Strings libraries (which are new to me) with older Albion I and II and Project Sam Symphobia strings. For the last couple of hours I've finally had no problems AT ALL!! It's a relief as I'm in the middle of a lot of work. But I think you're right I should contact Spitfire. I was relieved to find your post here as the maintenance company thought it was a failing graphics card and were about to give me a temporary replacement computer whilst they fixed my old one. Right now I'm going to hold off on that move. Please do keep me posted too if you find any further information or help on this. And I will continue to follow this thread and post updates if I discover anything new. With thanks
  9. Hi - did you find a solve for this issue? I am having the exact same problem. And even though I ended up choosing the other patches like sustained instead of the legato patch, the problem continued. I've got a studio company thinking I have a failing graphics card but I really think it might be the chamber strings. Any further information would be grateful. I just had my system updated today in hopes it would solve the issues to: Mac 10.12.16 Logic Pro x 10.4.4 But it made no difference. My previous set up as of yesterday is in my signature.
  10. Hi all I'm having a problem which I can't find in the forum (but perhaps am looking up the wrong keywords!) that I've had before but can't remember what the fix is! During a cue I have a tempo change and it causes a high small popping sound/reflection/echo just at the change. I can't bounce the regions out without the tempo change as it happens during a melodic phrase. Logic X 10.3.2 Mac OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 3GHz 8-Core Intel Xeon E5 Fireface UFX
  11. I thought I'd found a fix following another thread of turning off "Notes' under midi chase.. it worked for one time only and has now gone back to the multiple take capture!!
  12. Hi I was in the middle of scoring to picture yesterday when suddenly my command to Capture record the last take, which had been working perfectly, suddenly is capturing one take into a multiple folder of randomly anything from 7 to 15 takes!! I have looked on the forum and found one thread but it's old and doesn't apply to my version of Logic. And I have tried turning the location bar on and off but that is not helpful to the problem. My short cut command for this is: Ctrl/alt/cmd/R Can anyone please advise a fix for this? and am interested what may have caused it to suddenly happen midst working on a project... Thanks! Alex
  13. Hi Jangus Thanks for your reply and suggestions. I am using both wireless keyboard and magic mouse but this piano roll problem jumps uniformly, within one project, always to the same place (300 bars earlier) so I don't think this particular issue is to do with over sensitive touch. Plus the 'quick fix' solution of turning the catch head on/off/on that seems to be the only fix I can find. I did end up checking the Catch head preferences but they are set correctly, so this definitely seems to be a bug for some of us...?
