  1. That's interesting. I use it a lot and have never had a problem with it. Makes me wonder if it's a corrupt project.... Regardless, if it works for you now that's all that's needed!
  2. You can control click in the global movie track and get a number of menu choices on how to move your movie. - to playhead location might do the trick.
  3. Thanks - familiar with various terminology and it being the 5th mode of the melodic minor scale. I'm a jazz guy too.... And that's the sound I wanted. Which is why I wouldn't want to show a #5 rather than a b13 - it implies a different scale (and choices of of chord tones).
  4. I think the correct way to notate the chord is 9(b13). I did scan the link, and it really is about using the 6th rather than the 13th. Typically a 6th is correct if you lack the 7th of the chord. My chord tones would be R, 3, 5, b7, 9, 11, b13. The actual pitches would be F#, A#, C#, E, G#, B, D. The 11th normally would not be included in the voicing without dropping out the 3rd (for my ears anyway.....) The associated scale would be F#, G#, A#, B, C#, D, E, F#. The #5 designation implies the the C# would become a C## and the D would be a D# and requires a different scale. Not sure why that symbol was left out, maybe not a common one. Just thought it was odd it was the first one I looked for.
  5. Just stumbled across this thread - great stuff!!! So I tried the JazzCord and unicode on a chart I'm working on. First chord I want to clean up is an F#9, b13. Only thing I can find is 9(#5). Enharmonically the same, but implies the 5th note of the scale is raised, rather than the 6th note lowered. Not the same in my world of chord/scale relationship. So close....
  6. I'd be curious what your specific complaints are. (Sorry, haven't been around this forum for a while). I was pretty deep into L9's score editor and am finally getting back into LPX's score editor. It has had its problems but they (Apple) have slowly worked out a some of them. Score Editor aside, I'd never use L9 again unless obligated to for compatibility reasons, but it may just be the areas I use seem to work well.
  7. I'm using 3.1.1 right now, MS's CPU meter show about 7%, which is nothing. No idea how this would look in iStat. Hope the data migration is the cure-all!
  8. Just wanted to make sure you running a new enough version to take advantage of your memory. I've never tried mp4 files in MainStage, the manual says AIFF, WAV or CAF. If your hard drive clean up doesn't do the trick you might try converting them to one of those three formats.
  9. Thanks! Generally people are nice here, but as with anywhere, it's a mixed bag.
  10. Interesting points, thanks. Regarding the load display per processor, I guess it's just old school wanting to retain that look. Perhaps totally useless, point taken.
  11. Hope your Pinot Noir was nice and not limited to a single glass. Careful of anyone from Seattle, just sayin'.
  12. Eric, I feel very comfortable that your help has allowed us to have resolved this issue - so much so I'm going to have a beer! I've spent all afternoon installing PT 12 on computers at a school I teach at, all the while it has been the nicest day of the year so far, here in Seattle. Beautiful sun and about 80 degrees - I'm so going outside!
  13. The CPU view in MainStage seems way more useful in some ways, but I don't see it show load per processor, which I think is also useful. So maybe a combination of the two. Agree that documentation could be better, but then it would cut down on training and traffic to sites like this ; ) I do prefer the search ability often PDF files, but after using Logic Remote I do find it pretty slick to view help on the iPad. Having both would of course be the best of both worlds.... I'm sure you have downloaded all the PDF manuals that have been available for Logic and MainStage. My impression is they don't get updated as frequently as the online document, once again causing search frustrations.
  14. What, I have to solve this for myself??!!! ; ) Good suggestion, no idea why I didn't think of that and just do it. So I did. Here's the answer: It appears that MainStage multiplies everything by a factor of 10. So a reading of 5807% in MS corresponds to 580.7% in the activity monitor. Funny in that I could find nothing in the manual or online about this, although I've been known to miss things i searches before...
