  1. Guess he was desperate to find something not so quaint. How much time do I get for my 80 bucks per annum, and can I accumulate time? Say I am not there for 5 years, can I spend all my time then in one go. Can I bring my dogs? Where ais the 5.1 B&W Nautilus setup?
  2. LOL ....Jordito's Link is the thread on customization that I saw here....
  3. Pheeeew.... Some weired stuff for such a simple thing... hehehe.... Thanks Folks, I think I use the Giant display from the transport bar then. I switched to Mac because I was sick to the bone to go into the guts of programs and operating system's registry to fix stuff. Ever since, 2008, not single issue whatsoever. So I decided I never go that route of hacking into stuff again, and except super duper and istat, I have no additional OSX gadgets, just don't need them. I remember I saw a thread here last year or so where people modified the entire Logic GUI, photoshopped buttons and faders, new color schemes and all that, some of them were plain beautiful and much more easy on the eye than the original scheme, I think they did the same thing, with opening and changing package contents, really clever. Ah well, perhaps a future logic gives us more options on the color scheme side of things. Thanks a lot folks.
  4. This white on light green gives me trouble to see the numbers on a 30 inch screen from a distance. I find myself zooming in and out only for that reason often enough. Can you change the color? http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4914840/LogicProHelp/BarRuler.png
  5. ok.... this really is great, I can iron out some problems and make my orchestral attempts much nicer with a few hyper draws. The next question I encounter is this. I marked two regions - btw, the tracks and regions were created in cycle record, not sure if that makes any difference - and as you can see in Pic4, after setting the nodes in the HD window, it is not applied to both selected regions. Is it not possible to apply to multiple regions at the same time? P.S. I am in Hyper Draw heaven. Just did some edits on the Brass, and f*%@ me, this is making everything much much more lively and "realistic". Pic4 Multiple regions http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4914840/LogicProHelp/HD4_multiple.png
  6. Hi Thanks for that, I guess i got confused because the lanes were not shown in the copy of that region.
  7. OK, I solved it, but I do not understand the underlying principle. In Pic3 I added another inverse HD and now the second Gong at the end plays, but why was it affected by the edit on the first region at all, as seen in pic2 neither in the arrange, nor in the hyper draw area the second Gong showed the HD edit. Pic3 Adding inverse HD to hear the second Gong http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4914840/LogicProHelp/HD3.png
  8. OK This is fun May be you heard it, at the beginning, the end of Gong sample edit is not the nicest as it does not end 100% smooth, so I thought this is a good start to add HD, and as you see in picture 1, it worked just fine. I dragged midi cc 11 to the Kontakt Instrument, then chose HD and expression, and the Gong ends smooth now. Problem, now the Gong is at the beginning and the end, and I just option dragged the region. After I did the edit on the original region, the Gong at the end does not play anymore. Why is that? As you can see in Pic2, the second has Midi note data and no Hyper Draw, on Playback I hear nothing. ...Scratching head... 9. Yeah, that is very useful. I just made one myself. For example: I started Logic and opened a new project, then I loaded a 8x multi timbral Kontakt Instance and added a variety of strings into Kontakt Instruments 1-8, then loaded another 8x Stereo K-Instance and loaded tutti Brass, and again with Solo Brass, and again with Woods, and again with Percussion and so on. Next I chose a color for each Kontakt Instance so the tracks will be easily distinguished, and last but not least, i added a couple of things on the Master Out, like 2x Multimeter, Reverb, Limiter etc. It's a good start, but I already figured it needs much more fine tuning, as I need to include group channels as well. When you are ready to safe, just choose safe as template and give it a name, and the next time you start Logic, you can open your template exactly this way and all the instruments will be loaded and all the settings and plugins are there, ready to rock. I love it! P.S. Just watch your RAM when you do that, naturally, the more you load in your template the more Ram will be used.
  10. Thanks very much man! Will read and try out only Hyper Draw today and get back here. I just recorded a few bars last night and use it as my rehearsal to learn that. [soundcloud]http://soundcloud.com/oceanviewstudio/elronds-vision[/soundcloud] When I choose a midi Channel in HD, Hyper Draw, then this is the corresponding Kontakt Instrument midi channel of the region I chose to draw data into, right? Side note, just saw you are in Lancaster PA, I used to live for a while in York, PA myself. Now on the NW atlantic shores of Ireland, small blue marble.
  11. I just did that, but the manual leaves much to be desired in that. Is there a difference between hyper draw and hyper edit? What is the best way to choose? May be my approach, as you also explained with dragging midi cc to Kontakt level, is not the best? I open Kontakt multi timbral 8x and have K0ntakt load 16 stereos which are then represented by the additional 7 AUX in the Logic Mixer. each Kontakt Instrument has his own midi 1-8. Now I opene another Kontakt the same way as above, and another, and another etc. to create my orchestral template. Then I play something, say Kontakt Instance 1 midi 3+4 and Kontakt Instance 2 Midi 3+4. Now I am back and want to draw automation for Kntakt 1 midi 3+4 and Kontakt 2 Midi 3+4... and here it gets confusing....
  12. Thanks man, I did the first part and dragged the midi cc 11 to the level of each instrument. How do I create the lanes? P.S. In the arrange window, I highlighted the Track and then chose VIEW Hyperdraw, which gave me sort of an overlay on the region onto which I was able to draw with the pencil directly, very kewl! Only, on playing that back, only the channel 1 Instrument was affected and not the 3 as I desired and had drawn on. Really puzzled. P.P.S. Chose Hyper Draw in the arrange window, then OTHER, and added the controller. now I can freely paint volume onto the track, and no dafers are moving in the mixer window- there no line tool unfortunately - , but when I open the Editor below the arrange window I do not see this automation....
  13. Hi, I am just trying to figure out the best approach to write, by that I mean pencil in via my Wacom tablet, Volume and other automation data with the hyper editor. I have a multi timbral 8x Kontakt open and each instrument is on a separate out (aux) and midi channel. However, when I pencil in a volume change supposed to work for the third Kontakt patch, hence midi 3 and third fader in the mixer, it moves the first fader instead, hence the first instrument? Not sure how to do that, I just want to draw automation instead of having Logic create tons of AUX for each LATCH mode automation I could do alternatively, this makes my project totally chaotic from the layout as the AUX would not be directly under the corresponding region, but at the end of the window, and I can't manage all that without driving crazy.
  14. Hi, after 5 exchanges via Lacie support, I spare you the ridiculous conversation, bloody useless support, I thought I pop in here and ask. In my MacPro I have two eSATA cards,, both Sonnet, Tempo E2P, the older one, and E4P, drives up to date. OSX 6.7 Lacie's on the E4P show up correct such as here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4914840/lacie_e4p.png The Lacie on the E2P looks like this: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4914840/Lacie_e2p.png Any idea? Thanks
