  1. Yes, you can. Just use the 'Export' feature of MuseScore.
  2. I'd like to control the tempo of Logic from another application (Max) via OSC. For example, with Reaper it simply works by sending a message like [/tempo 115] to port 8000, but I'm unable to find the correct setup and format with Logic. Any help much appreciated.
  3. It's like that since ages. Doesn't happen with all projects reliably, but happens all the time. I've never seen it before, but after the update it happens "reliably" with all existing projects. Nobody has an idea how it could be avoided?
  4. When I open an existing project, it's immediately flagged as "dirty". Save and re-open doesn't help > flagged again. But the undo history is empty. Anyone else having this problem?
  5. But the converted MIDi will again be "quantized" to the tick resolution 960 in Logic.
  6. Again, here is an example demonstrating the issue. In the midi file a note of "KICK MIDI" starts at 729601 ticks. With resolution 9600 we can calculate: 729601 modulo 9600 = 1, meaning that the note starts 1 tick after the beat. However, in Logic with lower resolution 960 this corresponds to 0.1 ticks, which must be converted to an integer, i.e. truncated/rounded to 0. Thus in Logic the note starts exactly on the beat. The time interval of ticks in Logic is about 1 ms at 60 bpm. So in this example the timing error on import would be 0.1 ms. Generally the error due to rounding will be in the range +/- 0.5 ms.
  7. You can view the midi file in text format using this online tool http://www.flashmusicgames.com/midi/mid2txt.php It shows a resolution of 9600 which is 10 times higher than Logic internally. So strictly speaking, Logic's midi import is not correct. But I wonder if it really matters in practice.
  8. Input channel selection can be done with MIDI FX > Scripter > Channel Filter.
  9. Yes, seems to be an issue with the midi channel. The list editor shows that notes of Choir 1 are on channel 1 while notes of Choir 2 are on channel 2.
  10. Yes, it does. I did an export from Finale of a single trumpet part using a piano as the instrument and I can hear it. If I export that as a trumpet using the Garritan samples of a trumpet, THEN I cannot hear it. It appears to be the Garritan samples. I did the same with a sax and trombone part - can't hear them. Switch to piano and export from Finale as MIDI, then I can hear them. All wind instruments from Garritan have volume controlled by the Mod Wheel. Probably the MIDI file contains a reset to 0 and thus you get no sound.
  11. I've once tested the MIDI FX Freeze plugin and noticed similar problems. In my experience it's just unusable. Also, the download page seems not available anymore.
  12. Pattern Mode (Project Settings>Synchronization>MIDI) should do the trick. In Pattern Mode Logic sends a 'start' command if you play from anywhere, while in Song Mode it sends a 'song position' and 'continue' command.
  13. I guess the problem can be solved with 'MidiPipe' triggering Start from the Continue message. In the 'Message Factory' tool, set Continue (251) as trigger and Start (250) as message.
  14. I don't think the problem can be "fixed". With MTC there is always a sync delay at start (restart) for technical reasons.
  15. Seriously? Can you confirm that it works in practice?
