  1. Hi All, I'm bouncing out a huge collection of projects. I was just hoping someone would tell me, what get's bounced when using Export All Tracks As Audio Files, in LP8. Do, insert fx, fader level and pan get exported? Do I need to reset the mix? Is there a difference for instrument and audio tracks? Thanks, Damien
  2. Hi, Does anyone know of any free/cheap software for OSX that can rip CDs with index support, ie/ indexes to separate files? The only thing I've found is Library Monkey which is $399, way to much for the one feature I'll use. I've decided it's time to rip all my old Hollywood Edge SFX CD libraries. Thank, I hope, Damien
  3. Hi, I'm trying to use my M-Audio Axiom 49's MIDI IN port so I can plug some drum pads (Roland SPD-S) to control an exs24 in Logic 9. I'm sure when I've done this in the past, it's just worked but the Logic isn't getting any MIDI info from the SPD-S. I've checked that the SPD-S is sending MIDI data. The Axiom is working fine as a kyb controller. I've seen talk on the net that the Axiom functions as 2 MIDI ports, one for the kyb and one for the ports but I can't find anywhere in Logic to tell it what ports to use. Any help would be really appreciated. Any help? Thanks, Damien EDIT: It was just the MIDI cable.
  4. Hi, I can't seem to unzip the file. It just creates a file called 'Six-Trak.zip.cpgz' which in turn creates another zip file and so on and so forth. Would love to hear these though.
  5. That's it! It's a stereo plug-in only. Thanks David.
  6. Hi, I'm using a Muse Research Receptor* with LP9. The UniWire FX plug-in is behaving strangely. When I try and insert it on an Audio Channel it doesn't appear in the plug-ins menu, however, it does appear when I try to insert it on a software instrument channel. I can then copy it from the Software Instrument channel to the Audio channel and it works fine. Obviously, I'd prefer it worked the way it should. Any ideas why this might be happening? Cheers, D *a linux based hardware module that runs VST instruments and FX. UniWire is a utility that appears as a plug in in Logic for using the Receptors Instruments and FX via Ethernet. There are two plugins, one for Instruments and another for FX.
  7. This is great stuff to know. One more question, How do I resize the floating window just to the controls of the arpeggiator rather than from the top left corner?
  8. Thanks Dave, I went there and also downloaded their SVTCab plug-in which does what I was trying to do in the first place, well, close enough for demoing. Cheers.
  9. Hi David, The Bass is recorded already. From what I gather, Space Designer has an inherent 128 sample latency which is not compensated in the host compensation. Here's what's in the LP Help, "The complex calculations made by Space Designer take time. This time results in a processing delay, or latency, between the direct input signal and the processed output signal. When activated, the Latency Compensation feature delays the direct signal (in the Output section) to match the processing delay of the effect signal. Note: This is not related to latency compensation in the host application. This compensation feature occurs entirely within Space Designer. Space Designer’s processing latency is 128 samples at the original sample rate, and it doubles at each lower sample rate division. If you set Space Designer’s “sample rate” slider to “/2” the processing latency increases to 256 samples. Processing latency does not increase in surround mode or at sample rates above 44.1 kHz. 10. Hi, I'm having troubles working out how to move a track (or region) forward by an exact number of samples. To be more specific, I want to use Space Designer for some bass cabinet simulation but I get a 128 sample delay between the wet signal. I realise I can turn on the latency compensation which puts my signal back in phase but then everything is 128 samples late. This doesn't really help me anyway as I want to process the dry signal and wet signal separately (DI and Cabinet mic channels). So, I need to move the audio going into the Space Designer. The Delay setting in the Region Inspector seems limited to PPQ/milliseconds. Help?
  11. C-O-O-L. Except one track didn't want to come across, when I tried to check it's contents box it greyed out. Thanks a brazillion !!
  12. Hi All, I've just taken a section of a song, as a 2 channel bounce, onto another computer to do add some orchestration. How do I add the new MIDI tracks, setting and all, back into the main project?
  13. HI, I'm pretty lazy. I record vocals in the control room with the monitors on. To minimise spill I centre the microphone between the monitors, use one Gain plug-in on the master to sum to mono, then another after it to invert the phase on one channel (doing it in one plug-ins results in no audio output), that way when the sound gets to the mic, it cancels out... mostly. It's not a revolutionary technique but it works very well and there's no need to bother with headphone sends and separate mixes and you get a much more vibey performance and you're pretty much always ready to go. Here's the lazy part, I wish I could set the plug-ins to come on only when i'm in record mode. Any ideas?
