  1. A friend found it for me. In Project Settings/Smart Tempo.. there is a setting for BEATS or SMOOTHING Cheers Wiz
  2. I have been making Tempo Maps, using Smart Tempo.. and its working well.. It generally comes up with a resolution of a BAR. I would like it to be on the Quarter Note Is this possible? Cheers Wiz
  3. I just got off the phone with Logic Support.. about the blurry issue. By adjust ing the Display Contrast , it improved it somewhat... now thats a system wide change.. so its a bit of a ham fisted approach, and doest resolve the issue. There has been a font change, in Logic.. to San Francisco. The support person was great... and suggested that submitting bug reports/feedback requests is the way to get this addressed.. that basically the more that it gets submitted, the higher up the fix list it goes.... which makes sense. So, submit. He was not aware of the issue before my call. We did screen sharing which was the coolest thing ever. Also, I asked about the fact that my logic remote on my iPad and iPhone no longer working in 10.2 after upgrade... basically there is no real fix. There is no way to roll back the remote app. So, in the short term.. its Logic 10.2 and no remotes ... or 10.3 and blurry or go buy retina iMac. damn cheers Wiz
  4. I like the features... but I am on a 2012 iMac and I just had to go back... the fuzziness of the fonts was too much... do you think this will be address....or am I gonna have to stay out of 10.3 till I get a retina iMac.. which is in reality gonna be at least a year out. cheers Wiz
  5. It appears on more testing. The load balancing works with Logic plugs, and gets messed up by third party plugs, waves, wave arts etc Its been actually quite amazing how efficient logics own plugs are... so I think all is well cheers Wiz
  6. Is there any way, to load balance IO plugins across multiple cores of the CPU? It appears that they all get loaded to the same one. Also, if you apply any plugins after the IO plug in, they get added to the same CPU core. Lets say I want to run a large amount of IO plug ins... say 16-32 of them To go out of the audio interface(s) to a console, via the consoles line ins, and bring them back to Logic via the console direct outs, and do this using the IO plug in. Anyone doing anything like this? I have tried setting up the Tracks, feeding busses, feeding busses etc and can't seem to get any instance where the IO plug will load share across the CPU cheers Wiz
  7. I just came across this, the video has only been up a few days. Its in german, so turn on the subtitles... Shows quite a substantial bug for those who use automation. cheers Wiz Ps I tried to use the You Tube Tags, but it wouldnt work for me, so I used the URL tag instead.
  8. Is the value, reported from a ping in the IO plug in with an output connected to an input, the value one would use as the recording offset? cheers Wiz
  9. You have to set up the routing. Its certainly not plug and play. You would have to route what you want, to come out of the AW4416 via ADAT. You could also go via SPDIF, or indeed via the OMNI Outs as well. I don't use my AW4416 much anymore, but I still have some tutorial videos up on my you tube page http://www.youtube.com/user/wizofozland?feature=watch there is also a still active yahoo group for the AW4416 yahoogroups.com/aw4416 join that then in the files section of that group is a myriad of help documents assembled over the last 14 years cheers Wiz
  10. Nevermind.... Nut loose behind the patch bay... 8) all my fault.. nothing to see here... move along
  11. I just upgraded to Mountain Lion 10.8.4 Did a complete clean instal of Logic 9.1.8 just tried my i/o plug and its not working. Its the input side of the i/o plug in, as using total mix I can see RME UCX is sending out the correct output. But its not returning it. I have verified all cabling, and can utilise all the inputs, if I assign them normally, as you would during a recording. This all worked perfectly, prior to upgrading from mountain lion. anyone else experienced this? cheers Wiz
  12. yep, what I have done is find the basic tempo. Create a count in with midi, and have it stop playing after two bars, this means my downbeat on the first recorded bar is exactly in place. Any deviation from the tempo, is either intentional, or because I am human..... this puts it pretty close to the ball park. cheers Wiz
  13. It appears there may be a way, to get... close. track everyting to no click. Make tempo map from acoustic, being as sparing on the tempo markers as humanly possible. Say a bar, or couple of bars or only needed beats. Now remove all the tempo information from all the audio files. Then IMPORT the tempo information back into the audio files. Now FLEX the parts. Will be intersting to compare Cubase 7 when it arrives to this method. cheers Wiz
  14. As soon as I enable flex time on the bass guitar it shifts the audio. When recording after beatmapping. I have actually just about given up on this, I have ordered a copy of Cubase 7 and will give that a try, if it doesnt work out, sell it. I really want to be able to go down the route, of recording my acoustic free... then map tempo off that, then quantize audio recorded after that, to the grid I have just created. I see many many benefits of doing this, and will chase it for a while to see If I can make it work. I will go watch the video on the pyramind site, (thanks for posting that) and I will pop back here and update the thread if I find anything conclusive. But at this point. It seems impossible to. A) track acoustic guitar free time (not to click) B) beatmap that track to the resolution one would need to quantize drums after, 1/4 and or 1/8th notes C) now record Drums Bass etc , and then quantize that using flex time to the grid created in step B. cheers Wiz
