  1. Awesome, thanks for your help with that! : )
  2. When performing on a stage with big subs, is it important to have a shock absorbant/solid state drive in a MacBook pro? Is this some sort of added feature that one has to have installed at a Mac store? The other night I met another Musical Director at venue who was using backing tracks to back up a pop singer. When I told him about how my rig sometimes gets glitchy, he said, "you need to get a special shock absorbant drive installed so that when you've got big subs rattling everything around, things run smoothly." Is this true? Does anyone have experience with this? Thanks, Robin
  3. I have brought stems from 10 songs into one project to unify the mix overall loudness for mastering purposes and would like to know if there is a way to bounce between markers? For instance if the entire project is 50 minutes long but I just want to bounce from 13:24 to 17:37, how would I go about setting the markers and the bounce preferences to make this happen? Can anyone help? Thanks, Robin
  4. Awesome!!! I just dragged the files back into the Project folder and it worked. Thanks so much for your help!
  5. Ahh, I see. No, the audio files are not in the project folder...
  6. A group of audio files that was working a minute ago in one of my projects seems to have gone missing... Can anyone help me find them? The black waveform shapes that were once showing in the audio tracks when looking at them in the arrange window have turned blank. The tracks that have gone missing are all labeled Comp. 2 in the arrange window, whereas other audio files in the project which have a Comp. 1 and Comp. 5 label are still intact. Also, in the bin, the files that are not working have turned completely grey instead of blue like the others. When I tried to open older versions of the project to recover the tracks, I got a pop up saying "30 audio regions have changed in length." Can anyone help me recover the audio files? Thanks, Robin
  7. I am working on some backing tracks to use with a live band, (the tracks have bass, keys and back-up vocals), and am wondering what the best way to get a consistent mix is. Since I am using different bass sounds from track to track it's hard to tell what levels to use on say, something like a super fat "Basement Bass", vs. a thinner "Session Bass", and still be able to have them sound like they are at about the same level in the final mix when it's coming through some massive PA speakers. Is the multimeter the best tool to use to gauge the relative volume of a the frequency ranges in a track, or is there another way? Does anyone have any suggestions about how to achieve better consistency from track to track? Thanks, Robin
  8. I've been getting a pop up window in one of my projects that says "Deep Architectre, Unpack Some Folders". Does anyone know how to "Unpack Folders"? Thanks
  9. Great! Do you know where I find the Global Transposition Track? Does that then change the key of all the Midi Tracks in the project? I'd like to keep the Midi drum/percussion tracks as they are and change the key of just the pitched instruments like bass, keys, synths etc. Is that possible using the Global Transposition Track?
  10. How does one transpose multiple midi tracks at the same time? I often change the key of the whole song and would like to be able to transpose all the pitched midi instruments at once... Any thoughts? Thanks
  11. Thanks guys... that helps a lot. : ) Do either of you know how to group tracks in my version of Logic?
  12. Got the signature updated... Let's make sure I know what a "Track Header" is... In automation view, just to the left of the tracks themselves there is a box that has the track #, name, instrument trype etc. If I click on the little organ picture or the instrument name and select the track, is that clicking the "Track Header"? I seem to remember shift-clicking the tracks in that fashion when using an older version of Logic and it working... Could it be some sort to command setting issue... Maybe I accidentally switched some settings or something.
  13. Shift-clicking works fine in the mix window but not in the arrange window...
