  1. Hey, Aux 1 is effectively the channel where Maschine resides. The other 15 channels then become Aux2, Aux3, etc. Therefore, anything thats routed to Group or Aux 1 will play through this master channel.
  2. I use Maschine, and did recently upgrade to the latest release (1.5). I use this as a plug-in in Logic, but I'm not interested in recording directly onto Logic. Instead, I use Logic as an 8xStereo channel instrument, ensuring that each sound is treated individually within each channel on Logic. Each track has it's own compressor, EQ and plug-in settings ensuring I get the best out of each drum sound. You can even add automation to each separate track, such as mute, FX or volume. The trick here is to ensure you create a 64 bar loop on Massive, and just record the drums using the pads straight into Maschine. It's surprising how much flexibility this gives you - being able to start quite chilled, and build the drums up with your track. It's changed the way I create my drum patterns. If your song arrangement goes over 64 bars - keep something back for the next 64 bars by bringing in new parts of you beat by un-muting a track or by adding effects via automation. Sound like a useful tip?
  3. Although you can't import an entire project, you can move your channel strips between the applications. Whilst in Logic, click on the "settings" tab at the top of the channel strip you wish to import into Mainstage. You will see "Save as Performance" - give the performance file a suitable name and quit out of logic. Open a concert file on Mainstage and look for the channel strips. Click on the "Settings" tab on the top of a channel strip (or add a new channel strip) and look for the entry "Performance". Under this, you will see any performance setting you have saved whilst in Logic. You will now see the channel strip you created whilst in Logic - of course, automation, midi information, etc. doesn't get exported but your coveted sounds are portable - and for live performance, this is what's important!
