  1. It could be an issue if someone uses the same username across multiple forum/websites. Believe it or not, sometimes situations also arise in the "real world" that can carry over to the internet. About a decade ago, I was a moderator on another forum where a member (posting under his first name only) was having some issues with an ex, who took it upon herself to follow his internet activity and attempted to complicate his life online as well. Goofy stuff, but we live in a goofy world full of goofy people.
  2. ...which are not in the download either. green, gold...how will i know i've done the lessons well without them? 8) Because if you don't do them, a little cyber-David will appear on your screen and scold you for cheating.
  3. It's been a while since I've messed with my THR-10 with Logic, but I don't recall having any issues with low output when using the USB connection.
  4. One glass of champagne as a reward for each lesson completed. You owe it to yourself. Enjoy! You say that NOW, but wait until he's halfway through the book and decides to take a break and start seventeen goofy threads here about freaky deep thoughts...
  5. Weird. After restarting the computer a few times unsuccessfully, I gave up in disgust and shut everything down. After waiting a little bit, I fired everything back up and now it's working again. I think it's just possessed.
  6. Okay, I just dug out my old Presonus Firestudio Mobile and installed all of the current drivers for it. I'm getting audio through it, so that narrows it down to something in the Focusrite. Great...
  7. For some reason, my system decided to freak out on me somehow. The computer sees my interface, but I'm not getting any audio from it at all. When I switch to the internal speakers I do get sound. This just happened yesterday, and everything was fine before that-I didn't change anything in my configs or update any software. The driver for the interface is current. Any ideas?
  8. Kontakt 5 is working fine with Mountain Lion for me.
  9. TIME signature, not key signature... Just to make sure that nobody starts chasing the wrong rabbit....
  10. I'm currently running three drives: One is my operating system and DAW program, one is my sample library (I just upgraded to Komplete 9 Ultimate, so this drive is now pretty much used for that only and I need to get one more for BFD2 and a couple of other libraries that won't fit anymore), and the third drive is a dedicated project drive, which is what I record everything to. This is the best way to run things, as having one drive try to do too much can bog everything down in a real hurry. I can run sixty+ tracks of software instruments with my system just barely starting to break a sweat.
  11. I have about a dozen templates, most of them are various multi-out BFD2 drum kits that I use often but hate taking the time to configure, so I have them ready to go. I don't have anything else loaded into them, just the drum sets.
  12. That's odd. There should be an option for Logic 9 right below "US" in that third window.
  13. That will not help you - if you can't fly a plane it doesn't help to buy a different plane - you still can't fly. Anyway, you need a second disk to keep your Logic Projects on. You are probably recording & playing back your audio files from your startup disk. Depending on whatever computer you have, you should go for (from best to 5th best) a second internal SATA disk or external Thunderbolt or FireWire 800 or USB 3.0 or FireWire 400. Avoid USB 2 disks. This is correct. You're blaming the software for a hardware problem, and changing the software won't fix the hardware shortcomings. I used to get "disk too slow" errors regularly when running L9 in my Macbook Pro, adding an external project drive solved 90% of the issues I was having.
  14. I just read that now if you bypass a multi-out VI (even Ultrabeat) it will cause a crash. Bet they didn't plan on THAT little issue happening. Edit: Somebody snuck this one in two posts above me.
  15. About the only time I get clicks or pops when recording audio is if I have the buffer setting too high. I generally keep it at 128 for audio.
