  1. Below is the reply from XLN to my issue: That sounds really strange. Open a finder window and open the "Go"-menu at the top of the screen. Now hold the "Alt" key down to reveal the item "Library" and select it. From here, go into Application Support -> Addictive Drums 2 -> -> Settings and change the name of the file "dont_trace.txt" to "do_trace.txt" When you try to load Addictive Drums 2 in your host or use the standalone the next time, it should create a log file that you get to by going into the Library folder like before and from there into Logs -> Addictive Drums 2 Logs. Please reproduce the crash and send that log with your next reply. Make sure that you rename the file to "dont_trace.txt" after this, since it will slow down Addictive Drums 2 a lot. Addictive Drums 2 should do this automatically unless it crashes before it can.
  2. Ive sent them a detailed email explaining what happens with AD2 and Logic and waiting for a reply. Logic still up and running 12 hours later without the AD2 so we know what the problem is here just somehow need to figure out a fix other than not using the AD2 drums. Thanks David
  3. Hi Eric, I got rid of the AD2 in the components folder and opened a logic song that does not use AD2 or AD Piano and it runs great and no crashing after I returned a couple of hours later to check on the idle program. So it seems there is definitely some issue with the AD2 drums which will be tough to figure out as the support there takes days if one is lucky to reply to a help email. I really like the drums and spent a fair amount of money on them so it would be nice to be able to use the plug ins. David
  4. Hi Eric, No I never put my computer to sleep. It just happens mostly sitting idle with Logic either open on the desktop or hidden. Seems to make no difference. Now that I updated to 10.8.5 would it help perhaps to reupdate my Logic 9.0 to 9.1.8. Not sure of my options anymore. Should i delete the addictive drums components and run logic for a while without them to make sure its the addictive drums? I'm pretty sure as these issues only started after I bought the AD2 that this is probably a waste of time and Logic will run fine without the plug in. Something in the AD2 is getting corrupted because when I delete the AD2 components from the Library/Audio then when I reinstall the AD2 it tells me that it needs to do 2 repairs and they are always the AD2 drums and the Addictive keys. Then it tells me all is up to date and good to go and Logic scans the audio units and and validates them all. The only difference so far between 10.6.8 and 10.8.5 is that Logic would not validate the AD2 drums only the Addictive keys!! Weird really. Thanks so much. David
  5. Hi Eric, I took your advice and updated to 10.8.5. Logic now scans and validates the Addictive Drums 2 audiounits BUT logic still crashes sometimes on startup and sometimes after using it and then taking a break and when I come back Logic is not responding and I have to Force Quite. The report always seems to indicate that AD2 is the problem!! any suggestions as to how I can possibly solve this issue. Would doing the 9.1.8 upgrade again help maybe or?? Ive trashed the AD2 and reinstalled them a few times. It usually says it has to repair the two plug ins, does it and then says all is fine but.....I end up with the same result even when logic seems to be working just perfectly for a while. Thanks David Bravo
  6. Thanks. I guess Ill just go with Mountain Lion and holds thumb all works properly in the end. Does Logic Pro 9.1.8 work well with Yosemite as I may get a new imac in any case?? Why are so many people critical of Logic Pro X in any case?? Thanks
  7. I have Mountain Lion but have read numerous posts about Logic Lagging and being very unresponsive etc etc under 10.8.5, or are most people having no issues with Mountain Lion and Logic 9.1.8. If my only fix is 10.8.5 then I will go for it I suppose. On another note, if I buy an external hard drive and install Lion on that can I then Boot my imac from that hard drive to try out 10.8.5 before installing it on my imac in case I dont like it or it doesnt work properly for me? Can I then just run Logic as usual or do I have to install Logic and all the plugins on the external drive as well?? Thanks David
  8. Hi, Using Logic Pro 9.1.8 on a imac with 10.6.8. Everything was working fine till I installed Addictive Drums 2 and then the random crashing started. Logic will play just fine then I take a break and come back 5 or 10 minutes later and Logic is not responding and I have to force quite the program. Using it in 64 bit mode. The audio unit checker didnt authorize the drums the first time but eventually did after I reinstalled using the xln online installer. I've trashed preferences and reiinstalled the drums a number of times and the installer said it was repairing the drums. I then restart logic and it sees and authorizes the plug ins with no problem but then the crash happens again after using it for a bit either while running it or when it is idle for a while. any help or suggestions will be appreciated. Will moving to Mountain lion help perhaps or bring other problems?? Thanks David Bravo Imac 2010 i3 dual core, 12Gig Ram, 10.6.8, OWC 2TB External 7200 Firewire 800 drive. MOTU 828 and Unitor.
  9. If I install logic 9 (upgrade from 7) on an imac and then buy a new imac can it be uninstalled and reinstalled on the new imac without difficulty. Do I need my logic 7 key to upgrade to 9 and does Logic 7 actually have to be installed on the imac to upgrade or is the key enough?? If I have an Imac upstairs in my office and a different imac downstairs in the basement where most of my gear is Can I have Logic 9 on both computers BUT only use it on either computer but not at the same time?? I know this is okay with a laptop and a desktop but is it okay with 2 desktops in 2 separate rooms owned by the same person.
