  1. Can anyone give input on how well this computer will handle running Logic Pro? All I am doing is tracking myself one track at a time BUT it can get CPU intensive as I will be running Spectrosonic's Omnisphere and Stylus along with iZotope plug-ins, etc. Usually not more than 20 tracks in all. I am currently using a Core 2 Duo iMac. 3.06 ghz with 4 gig of ram. Salesman says that the laptop will eat the iMac up in performance. Just curious. thx!
  2. Uhm, I AM running 9.1.3 Logic and with Mac OS 10.6.5!! BTW? I don't USB anything. Well, just a keyboard now and then.
  3. I do have the latest update of AT and I am running 32 bit. You may be right. Logic must be sick of AT. I do know that it is AT that is making it do this. It happens on every session that AT is on. I'm not intelligent enough to figure this out. I guess I should just sing on pitch and I wouldn't have to worry about it.
  4. I think I've found the culprit. I'm using Auto-Tune 5 on several vox tracks. When I go back into the session and try to "undo" that plug-in, it locks up. I started another "new" session and inserted Auto-Tune on that session and it's crashing again. SO, how do I fix this problem. I'm not that verse in these situations.
  5. Yes, I have a project open at the time. It also crashes when I go to drop down menu and quit via that. FYI Just opened other projects and it doesn't crash when I quit from those. I don't know what it is about this particular tune that is doing it. I'm using the same plug-ins, etc. Interesting!
  6. Every time I try to "command quit" in Logic it crashes. Just recently started doing this. Nothing has changed. No add-ons or anything software or hardware based. Any suggestions?
  7. @am3king So glad I could help. I've never been able to actually help someone else so it feels pretty good! Anyway, hope things go well for you. I hope you become as happy as I am with Logic Pro. It has been a wonderful transition and I wish I would have done it long ago. Happy tracking! Cheers!!
  8. @David. Is there a personal email address where I could send you a personal email? thx
  9. It's the least I can do with all the help I have received. I LOVE being a part of this family! Hope that wasn't too, too, but... I mean it.
  10. @am3king. This is what I had to do to get things right. 1) Quit Logic 2) Go to System Hard-Drive>Users>Current User>Library>Preferences and trash the folder; Waves Preferences 3) System Hard-Drive>Users>Current User>Library>Caches and trash the folder; Waves 4) Go to System Hard-Drive>Library>Audio>Plug-Ins>Components and remove any V5/6 WaveShell files (if they're there) named; WaveShellAU5.0.x.component/ WaveShellAU6.0.x.component 5) Go to System Hard-Drive>Users>Current User>Library>Caches and trash the file com.apple.audio-unit.cache 6) Empty the Trash Can 7) Go to System Hard-Drive>Applications>Waves>WaveShells and launch the Waves AU Reg Utility 7.0 (hit Let's go and Done) 8) When the application (AU REG Util) prompts you to locate the Waves Plugins folder - navigate to; System Hard-Drive>Applications>Waves and select the Waves Plug-Ins folder and hit Choose. 9) Launch Logic, Waves Preferences window will show up - check only the last checkbox ("Don't ask me again") 10) In Logic go to the Audio Unit Manager (Logic Pro > Preferences > Audio Unit Manager) and verify that all Waves Plugins checkboxes are checked
  11. not bypassing because I want to be able to hear some effect as I record. Buffer is set to 128 while recording.
  12. yes there are but it's the same set up I've used in the past and did not have this problem.
  13. I'll start weeding things out, I guess. ALSO, I just noticed that when I'm tracking (say an acoustic guitar) even though I KNOW I'm with tempo, when I play back the track the recording is behind, tempo wise, (noticeably). I've NEVER had this problem. Could I have checked or unchecked something. I've tried going through everything and can't figure this one out either. I've even taped on the mic while recording and zoomed in to see the wave forms lined up with the kick drum and while recording it's on but when I stop, the newly recorded track seems to jump behind for some reason.
