  1. yeah the midi out on my synth goes into the midi in on midiman the midi in on the synth goes into the midi out on the midiman. i still get no sound. everything is connected as should be, any ideas? Thanks in advance
  2. ok, ive tried inserting the headphone socket direct into the synth and play back the music through logic, but i dont hear anything? should i be?
  3. OK, Ive set up a midi channel as a software instrument with an external instrument plug in. On the plug in I selected the inputs 1-2 which go from my juno to my apogee duet inputs. the midi in and out goes from my juno to my midisport and on the external plug in i selected midisport 1 the software instrument records the midi and also the sound when im recoring but when i playback i dont hear the sound only the see the midi. ive set everything up as i should and double checked against all the forums but i still i get no sound. can someone please help
  4. i have two midi leads going from my midisport into my juno i have the audio outs on the juno going into my apogee in logic i set up an external midi channel and set up an audio channel to record the sound from my juno. it records ok when i set up another midi channel and audio channel the sound of the first recording defaults to the different sound and instrument ive chosen for the second. basically in unable to record more than one midi instrument and logic doesnt retain the original sounds despite me setting up an audio line as well as an external instrument. i thought if an audio line was set up then that records the sound of the synth permanently but the audio line sound changes also. any ideas what im doing wrong, ive been trying this for ages and still havent managed to figure it out. thanks
  5. great! im going to try. thanks a lot
  6. sorry i dont understand your post. do i have to have audio outputs set up to get the juno sounds???? so do i plug in the usb from the juno to my laptop and then i use the two outputs on my synth plugged into the apogee duet as well?? which outputs, the outputs l and r or the line inputs 1 and 2?? how does that work?
  7. just bought a roland juno di thinking that i could plug the usb from the synth straight into my macbook pro and get the sound of it but in midi. im not able to do this why? do i need to purchase like a midiman type box and try to do it that way? or is it some setting ive got wrong it logic?? basically i set up an external midi track, enable record but no sound!! any ideas, thanks a lot
  8. yes i hav the two midi leads connected from the synth to the midibox. it lights up when i play i select external instrument in the i/o and select my synth , the midi records as i can see the bars cant hear it. i dont just want ti use my synth to record midi data i also want to record its sound! any ideas?
  9. i have the audio out going into the audio in on the midisport and the audio in from synth going into audio out on midisport. still no noise but the box lights up when press the keys so presumably data is going in i just cant hear it in logic itself??
  10. i cant get my external synth to record in logic. i plug it into my midisport 2x2 and it lights up when i press the keys however the synth sound does not play in logic although i see the external midi as been recorded. it seems to work when i use a software instrument in logic but not when i want to record and playback my synth as midi. i read to set this up i should select the external instruments box in the i/o, is this right or is there a better way to do it? i been struggling with this for months now so any help would be appreciated.
  11. how do i set up a send and return on an apogee duet. or do i have to buy and ensemble??
  12. hi, ive done something presumably in logic because whe i try to open file it reads 'document could not be opened'. the file has the mb written next to it and i can see a preview of it when i click but it does not open the main file. all the other files open and i have over 300mb of free space. is this a space issue? any ideas? thanks
  13. thanks, that make sense now!! tried it and it works finally. one more thing which im confused about you said " You may want to route all music channel strips to an aux, put in a directional mixer plug-in, and use that to pan - it will keep you from losing volume when you pan hard to the right". how do i set up an aux in mainstage?? and do i put the directional mixer plug in on the aux channel strip only? assuming i set up one aux channel strip ? or do i put it on the backing tracks?? on the directional mixer plug in i just grab the direction thing clockwise?? to pan right, do i need to do anything with the spread setting? thanks so much for your help.
  14. The only way to keep your click out of the PA is to pan the metronome hard to one channel and the backing tracks to the other. Send the non-click mono send to the PA. You may want to use the below suggestion to route a click to one channel currently i have imported the wav files into mainstage as a playback and am using the metronome in mainstage. the metronome doesnt appear to be on any channel strip so how do i pan it?? how do i send the non click mono to the pa?? i currently playback using an apogee duet with the two jacks left and and right. do i only use one of the outputs, for instance the right one and plu that into the pa? how do i route a click to one channel in mainstage? when i open up the plug ins it doesnt give me a click option like logic? thankyou for your help
  15. i am trying to play back some tracks in mainstage for live show. i am running my mac book pro through an apogee duet. i need to plug in my headphones to my apogee duet or laptop to hear the metronome and the backing track. . i want the backing track to be panned in one ear and the click in the other. how do i achieve this in maintstage without the click feeding through the pa. as it does now?? many thanks
