  1. Gday! Been a while since i checked back in. nice new platform! So.... i need drum loops! I am a Guitarist with some grooves + Riffs that simply need great beats to compliment. A while back, i purchased EZ drummer 2. I find it limiting in finding the sample i require, or something i can work with. The loop packages in Logic are great sounding, but restricting in associating beats. ie. verse & chorus. I am capable of making a midi beat, however to speed production up i think i just need a good library of beats that i can also manipulate, to get the sound right Funk, Blues, Reggae, even a bit of alt. country might be handy. Do i: a) Buy Superior drummer (which will exceed my capabilities/ time & depth of knowledge). which i hope has a large library of beats to cater my needs. maybe theres an alternative you can recommend. b) Buy a toontracks Loops package or recommended alternative & use it in existing EZ drummer 2 package. Are these my best options for a vast array of great sounding loops? Am i wasting my time with EZ drummer 2, if it already frustrates me not being able to find a beat i can work with? Is EZ2 just a limiting with sound options as it is finding good loops? Any advice would be appreciatted
  2. Hi guys n gals, This ol chestnut!... I have just completed a full back up, wipe and re-installation of OS and upgraded to Mojave. I had done some research prior and overall got a positive response that upgrading to mojave can be smooth sailing. huh! So of course, Before I go on a rampage around my studio and kick things like a 2yr old. Can someone give me hope that all is not lost. I backed everything up to time machine, and project folders and files are all there. However now I have upgrade to Mojave, and reinstalled Logic X (latest).. when I import or open a project. Its just says it can't perform, and there is no further information on the problem. Typical! Any help appreciated.
  3. Problem fixed: Plugin Latency needed to be 'Off'.
  4. Be careful upgrading to Sierra.... this could happen... Still looking for the solution!
  5. Made a video showing the problem:... to encourage a response.
  6. Hi everyone, Is anyone having the same problem I am post 10.3 upgrade. I refer to a previous post 10.3 upgrade Audio track tempo problems (sorry to re-create). iMac was performing poorly, so I backed up all my 10.2 projects, wiped, upgraded OS X to Sierra , upgraded Logic to 10.3 and now after re-opening (and importing) my old projects, the Audio tracks are out of sync with the click and Drummer. Drummer and click are in sync with tempo BPM, but the Audio tracks and even software instrument tracks are not lining up. The Audio starts on the beat then progressively goes further out of time. you can see where transients have been stretched and no longer sit on the grid. I have done a bpm counter on all audio tracks playing together (in time) and its 128 bpm. The projects Bpm is also 128 ppm. Doesn't make sense to me, but visually and audibly its way out. Surely its a setting somewhere and I dont have to flex time edit?... I hope! Getting desperate now. So much work at risk.
  7. Im trying to remember how I did it. they were backed up in Folder system. (save as folder). So I either opened them up from the external hard drive I back up on and saved it again onto my local disk in the iMac. Or I may have even copied the backed up folder contents of the songs to the iMac. I definitely didn't import them via the File / Import method. Should I have?
  8. what are EXS and IRS's?... I tend to get prompts sometimes where the project can't locate the files and you can choose to search locate or skip. never really understood what happened for it to lose those files or command the prompt.
  9. whats even more strange is.... a bounced down mp3 I had backed up (that played fine before the backup) is also now out of time. This is crazy. whats going on here?
  10. I recently backed up everything, wiped my iMac and started afresh with Sierra (upgraded from Mavericks). I also installed Logic x 10.3. (upgraded from 10.2) I imported many of my tracks I was working on from 10.2 but now.... My Recorded Audio tracks and Drummer are not in sync. Drummer and click are in time, so I gather the audio has lost its way. All audio tracks are in time with each other - just travelling at a different tempo than Drummer and click. This has got me worried cos it is the same problem with all other tracks. How can I get it all in time again?
  11. Great feedback guys! thanks so much.
  12. Is there a method where you can see if a file if a file has the attributes of being backed up?
  13. I have just wiped & done a fresh Install of everything -OSX, Logix x etc. I thought it would be a good opportunity to change some personal bad Habits when it comes to filing my projects. So much to consider here. Throughout my time using Logic Pro (3-4yrs) I have saved projects as Folder & Package format. It has made a very messy filing system all together and my locations haven't helped either. I did come to the conclusion that Saving as 'Folder' was neater and more organised..... but now it leads me to a scenario of wanting to store all my works - completed und uncompleted in an External HDD library of sorts. There is of course so much stuff that will never be surfaced again, and also the important stuff I am currently working on. If you think your filing system works well, I am interested to hear how you do it, or any recommendations. Knowing full well I will be doing another wipe and re-install in another year or so - What are the best practices and Good Habits
  14. Ahhh the endless quest of ease!! I'm sure you experienced folk have all been here before.... I've just gone through the process of backing up/wiping & reinstalling my OSX. Decided to upgrade from Maverick to the new Sierra. spare me the "you shouldn't have done that comments" please. ... Of course there were always going to be issues, but more positively, its not as bad as what I thought. I restored some of my Logic tracks opened them up (into the upgraded Logic X) and to my surprise everything was there! WINNING. However not everything syncs up and plays in time. Physically they look to be in the right locations. its just playback. Its not too far out, but enough to notice. Any suggesting before I try quantizing?
