  1. You Sir, are an absolute hero! And I am a nonce lol.... That's exactly what it was! Can't believe I didn't figure it out. Either way, thank you very much for your time and reply. That was driving me mad! Problem solved.
  2. Hi there. I used the Test Oscillator recently but now for some reason whenever I open up a new software instrument it opens up with the Test Oscillator as the default which is really irritating. I have to physically switch it off literally every single time I open a new software instrument. Is there a way I can stop Logic X opening a Test Oscillator as default? How does Logic decide what the default instrument is anyway? Thanks in advance peeps!
  3. Wicked, thanks for clarifying that David! ...One last thing, is there a vast difference between cutoff 1 and 2? I'd ideally like to arrange a separate cutoff for key tracking and a separate cutoff for the frequency filter.
  4. Hi there! I've been trying to educate myself further on the use of synthesis using a workbook (Simon Cann's Synthesizer Wizard) as in conjunction with using Logic's ES2 Synth. I'm using a Mac and the book suggests downloading the Zebra 2 but I don't have £200 to spend on it and I'd rather try and learn using a synthesizer I actually intend to use. The book talks about using Keytracking slider as well as a 'Cutoff Frequency Envelope' and 'Volume Envelope'. These things aren't clearly defined on Logic's ES2. Given that it is still a pretty decent synth, I'm of the understanding you can setup these parameters in Modulation Router. So what I'd like to know is how would I go about having a Key Tracking Slider, a Cutoff Frequency slider (with ADSR setup for frequency), and a Cutoff Envelope Slider (with ADSR setup for amplitude/volume) in the ES2? Or is this simply not possible on the ES2? It seems to me the way to do it would be to setup Cutoff 1 with the Source Env2, Amp with the Source to Env 3 (Let me know if I'm wrong here!) Then Cutoff 2 with the Source as Keybrd to have a slider for Key Tracking. (Again, let me know if I'm wrong!) With those parameters put in place I could have Cutoff 2 on the ES2 as a Key Tracking Filter, Cutoff 1 as a Cutoff Frequency Slider with Envelope 2 acting as the ADSR for Frequency and the slider on the Modulation Router for the Amp-Env3 could act as the Cutoff Envelope slider. Does that sound like the best way to do it? Or have I got that completely wrong? Haha
  5. Hey he's a video of me making a Grime beat with some jazz style piano in there. Grime's becoming a bigger thing than ever in the UK right now and arguably world wide. But you rarely hear it with any Jazzy style chords mixed in so I thought I'd give it a try!
  6. Thanks again Atlas! Apologies for the delayed response, I've literally only had to chance to update things as you've described just now. It appears to have done the trick so thank you very much! I initially had some crackle going on with my apogee after the upgrade but that appears to have been down to the low buffer I/O speed. It was on 128 and now I've upped it to 256 and that seems to have stopped the crackle. All appears good, cheers!
  7. I haven't tried playing the sound without the Apogee plugged in so it's the latter case. Sorry if this is a stupid question but how do I update the drivers?
  8. Thanks for the reply Atlas. No it doesn't appear to be a mute issue. The M button doesn't light up or anything
  9. Hi there I'm using an Akai MPD 26 Midi Drum Machine and I have no midi issues with that whatsoever. However I'm also using an M-Audio Keystation 61es in line with Logic Pro X. It initially plays fine, but at random points it will stop playing any sound whilst still being aware of the notes being played (If I press a number of notes to get a chord it will display the chord where it says 'key' at the top of the menu). If I press play to get ready to record the midi sound will sometimes come back again. Although sometimes it works the opposite way so I may initially have sound until I press play, then it will cut out. If I leave everything alone for a length of time, the sound will initially come back, but it eventually cuts out again. None of this makes much sense to me. I used to have Logic 9 and never had a problem. However I have relatively recently upgraded to Logic X and am now using OS X Yosemite 10.10.5. This seems to where the problem has started. Do you guys have any thoughts on this one?
  10. I've put up a funky DJ Mix with an upbeat blend of Hip Hop, Funk, House and Garage. If you got an hour and need some music to fill the time, go give it a listen here; If for whatever reason you can't view the video, go check out the the mix here;
  11. Do you have anything else? With beat perhaps? Yes plenty, this for example; The acapella bars you saw in the first video will be on a track too.
  12. Here's a rap verse I've recently put up about the battle of information in our internet age. Let me know what you think!
  13. Nope you're not wrong there Chris haha. I just wasn't sure if there was a way round the issue if you already had Logic 9. It's little bit annoying basically having to duplicate all the same stuff over again.
