  1. Hello all, Not sure if anyone has my Dual Core Power Mac and Lion setup, which I understand Apple is not supporting. But I just upgraded to Lion and reinstalled Logic 9.1.6. When I launch Logic the "Licensing" window pops up to verify my serial number but the graphics are all blacked out. I can't see what information Apple is asking for. If no one has a work around, can anyone tell me what the 4 windows are asking for? Thanks, John
  2. It's been a day of head scratching but it looks like I've gotten to the bottom of it. I trashed prefs a few time, each time the ports would show up the first time I launched Logic and disappear the next time I launched Logic. I had a lovely episode of the Digi Core Audio Driver crashing Logic on launch consistently. Incidentally for THAT problem this doc helped: http://avid.custkb.com/avid/app/selfservice/search.jsp?DocId=211059&NewLang=en Anyway, after I launched Logic the last time, the MIDI ports were not there in the "click and ports" layer of the environment, as discussed. I happen to hit my A-80 MIDI keyboard in frustration, sending a MIDI signal through Logic. Suddenly all the ports appear, as if I woke it up!!! In conclusion, if your MIDI setup does not show up in the "click and ports" layer of the environment window, hit your MIDI keyboard to wake it up.
  3. Nope that wasn't it either. Strangest thing. It was working after I cleared off the hard disk space so I thought that was it. Now the ports are gone again. Could it be a bad preference file or something? I could use more help if you have a moment. Thanks.
  4. David, I just noticed that my hard disk space was VERY full. I had less than 1 Gig left. Long story. Anyway, I cleared off some space and relaunched Logic. The ports are now showing up. Thanks for your help, all seems healthy.
  5. Thanks. I just deleted my old IAC busses and created 4 more. I relaunched Logic. No IAC busses or MIDI ports from my MIDIsport are appearing in the Ports layer of the environment window. The Caps Lock Keyboard is not showing up either. Not sure if this helps, but when I select "New" and "Instrument" in the environment window, there is a "port" menu item on the left that defaults to "all". When I pull down the arrows to the right, the IAC busses and the MIDIsport ports are all listed but they are greyed out. Thanks for the multi instrument record info. That's odd that I can't select MIDI inputs by ports, but I checked it and I do have discreet input from my A-80 and my TD-7.
  6. Thanks for responding. MIDI input devices are an A-80 Keyboard and a Roland TD-7. MIDI interface is an M Audio MIDIsport 4x4. Audio/MIDI setup shows my TD-7 and A-80 properly patched to my MIDIsport. I've set up one IAC driver bus, "device is online". Incidentally, in Pro Tools, all MIDI inputs are available for selection. In other words, I can select the TD-7 or the A-80 or the IAC bus as a MIDI input on an instrument track. I'm running Logic 9.1.3 on a dual core intel Mac. I'm trying to do two specific things in Logic. 1) Be able to set up a TD-7 ONLY (not "sum" of my different MIDI input devices) so I can have two musicians playing at the same time controlling two different instrument plug-ins. 2) Use an IAC driver to route MIDI to and from BFD2 standalone, to utilize a full 4 Gig of RAM in BFD2. Thanks.
  7. My MIDI input devices are healthy, MIDI interface healthy, Audio/MIDI setup is healthy. When I try to set up my “physical input” port in the environment window (click and ports), all that is listed is “sum”. My IAC bus is not listed, nor are my other physical MIDI input devices. I’m stumped. Any advice would be appreciated.
