  1. I was having this same issue too (10.7.5). Only way I could get around this..... :: drum roll :: instead of entering the target level value via the keyboard, I used the little arrows next to the value and then it finally worked.
  2. 1. Nested folders, this a huge one for me right now for organization and gain leveling/ bus processing. Especially with over 100 tracks. 2. Support for racks and nested racks like Abelton. Not only does it make parallel processing and sound design much easier, one can trade a rack like it’s a plugin bundle with other producers. 3. Pitch control integration for audio instead of using the AUPitch plugin. Very helpful for riser buildups in songs. Also AUPitch has a bug which won’t allow Logic to compensate for it delay. Super super frustrating. 4. Support for Midi plugins to have multiple destination plugin assignments for modulation instead of one instance for one plugin. 5. Native OTT plugin like Abelton. 6. Better phase distortion plugin, right now it only has a sine wave, should have other sources like white noise. See Erosion in Abelton. 7. Better modulation control in sampler, would need nice to be able to draw the LFO wave like in Serum. Would be great if MIDI modulation had this feature as well. 8. MIDI plugins that must be side chained to be triggered are extremely annoying. Especially when you have to create a unique track and feed in audio, I should be able to just route midi notes from any channel strip into a loaded effect plugin ( and if it sits in a rack to any plugin within that rack). There are many midi FX plugins I want to using on a pre master bus but I have to load up multiple plugins on multiple channel strips and feed them in series to use all of them. 9. FM synth upgrade, see Abelton's operato. 10. Ring modulation needs the ability to select different LFO waves.
  3. The fact that I have to load in a plugin like AU Pitch at all is so so so frustrating. It takes time to do this and disrupts the work flow, not to mention the sound of AU Pitch just doesn't cut it especially on high transient material like drums (Pitching fills is awesome). It should be built right in. Risers and Downlifter are such common place in EDM I'm still flabbergasted that Apple has not implemented this into the UI. If you want to see what des99 is talking about watch this Abelton video. Not only should Apple implement this in the UI it should also allow you to select different algorithms. The processing will be internal (like with other flex time material) instead of processing the audio live as AU Pitch does. Processing material on the fly will never sound as good.
  4. I've been using logic for over 10 years now. I'm afraid that it's time for me to move on. Looking at Abelton or Bitwig. I find myself spending a lot of time troubling shooting rather than creating music. Granted I'm doing some pretty complex stuff. Logic just doesn't seem to want to do adapt to cutting edge production and mixing paradigms. Things that are absolutely driving me nuts: 1. No support for nested summing folders. And this ties into the thread's subject of delay companions. One can technically set up nested audio busses. This is absolutely critical for gain staging in EDM and is where the art form is heading. The PDC is all over the place is hierarchical aux/bus structures. Add to that any side chain one might use (ex. for ducking) and it's a phasing nightmare. Bitwig is doing all of this with ease. Off topic but... 2. No support for any sort of rack style plugin packs like abelton. This is super helpful for parallel processing audio within a plugin chain and having simultaneous wet/dry control. Logic is at a huge disadvantage here. 3. Can't have a single instance of a midi effect (like an LFO) sharing multiple destinations. I could go on
  5. Why is it that when I switch between tracks the Step Editor can't automatically change between new Lane Sets? I have to manually change the lane set.... blasphemy! =)
  6. Figured it out. This issue only happens when opening an LP9 project... doesn't happen with new LPX project. Strange
  7. If I add a channel from a multi output instrument, how do I force the newly created Aux channel from stereo to mono? In the EXS24's case, this would be selecting the mono input 11, which is not possible when the Aux channel is in stereo. For example: 1.) Add exs24 to a new channel strip (multi output of course). 2.) Click '+' icon in the mix window to add new channel. 3.) Attempt to change the new stereo Aux Channel to a Mono input (i.e. 11, 12, or 13, etc....) Not possible. Only work around I have found is to remove the input by setting the input to 'No Input'. Then change the channel to mono, then reselecting the instrument to say 'Inst 11'. Cumbersome but possible (easier in LP9), is their a faster shortcut? -Matthew
  8. The boys at SoundToys need to hurry up and get their $%!* together. Amazing plug-ins ... but still lagging behind on the 64-bit conversion.
  9. Well I'll be dipped and rolled. Still not sure what it is. I ended up buying a new Macbook Retina and the problem went away. I know this isn't a solution. I'm curious to see if anyone else has seen this problem?
  10. Updated profile information. Anything look out of the ordinary... could it be my old computer?
  11. Hi David, The project file is attached. Are you seeing the same thing? I've looped the sections where the problem is at. See track 4 titled 'Hats'. In the piano roll you will see G# midi notes on the off beat skipping. -Matthew Project 3.zip
  12. Sorry, I meant to say multi-ouput mode. I was about to send over my project file. I started to delete other EXS24 tracks and the problem went away after I removed a few of them.... seems like this could be a memory or latency problem. The project has about 35 tracks (all synths), 6 of which are EXS 24 loaded with drums samples. Guess I'll have to bounce in place I have 4Gigs of RAM and running Mountain Lion on a 09' Macbook pro 15". -Matthew
  13. Has anyone else had problems with exs24 glitching, skipping and doubling midi notes when in multi-instrument mode.
  14. I found the solution to this problem. I must say, it was a pain!! Note: I was using the kick as the sidechain. To Fix: I duplicated the kick track, set the duplicate track's output to null, and then using a 'send' sent the kick to an aux bus (pre fader). Previously I had the duplicated track's output being sent to the aux bus, but when I bounced all kinds of latency craziness happens. Hope this helps someone! -Matthew
