  1. Hey again, Got this sorted out. Feel dumb because I had installed Kontakt on the Air from the original discs and needed to update it to the latest version (4.2.4) for the plugins to be recognized by LPX. Really appreciate your responses and support! This forum is insanely helpful. Cheers!
  2. Hey Jordi, Thanks for the reply, Kontakt 4 does not appear in the list of plugins in LPX. I remember having the similar issue when first installing LPX on the iMac before it crashed. I thought it had something to do with switching to 24-bit mode or something, I'm just getting old and can't remember That's sweet to know about the automatic switchover for Kontakt 5 - I will definitely be switching over at some point. Any suggestions from here? I'd be happy to provide more details where I can. Cheers
  3. I'll give that a try, cheers. If anyone else has experience with this though I'd love to hear about it!
  4. Hey all, Just looking for a bit of insight regarding getting NI Kontakt 4 working in LPX. Up until recently, I was running Logic Pro X on my iMac. I had upgraded from Logic Pro 9 where I was using all my Kontakt 4 plugins. After I updated to LPX, I remember having an issue getting all the Kontakt 4 stuff to work, but I eventually did - I can't currently remember how. Now that my HD crashed, I've put LPX on my 11" Macbook Air but I cannot for the life of me get Kontakt 4 to work. I don't remember if I previously had the option in LPX to change the bit rate and that had Kontakt 4 working (maybe that option disappeared in an update since then?). Has anyone else experienced this at all? I'm starting to go a bit bonkers and though I know I should eventually just update to Kontakt 5, I'm wary of how all my previous projects using instances of Kontakt 4 will fare. Thanks for your consideration.
  5. hey what would be the easiest way now to switch back and forth between having the axiom run through the pocket piano and the default setting? (i can switch to a non arpeggiating mode on the pocket piano but i lose the velocity sensitivity) can i save those environment setting to recall on a per instrument basis, or add a switch or something like that? if you email me a postal address it'd be my pleasure!
  6. i love you, man. SOLVED. can i do anything? that was so helpful. you want a package of canadian chocolate bars or something?
  7. Yes, on mine where it just says out, this is directed to the E-MU. if I put a monitor in between the controller (session 1 session 2) and the instrument i created, nothing shows up in that monitor at all. only in the input view. i"ll attach a screenshot. also one other question. after all this setup is done, and i delete the original external midi track i created.. when i create a new software instrument it simultaneously creates another external midi track. is that normal?
  8. i really wish i could say that worked. just a question to make sure we're on the same page. in step 5, you said select the new instrument and in the inspector, set the MIDI out port to the E-MU out port. In the screen shot you attached, you have the port set as the axiom selected. is it in fact supposed to be set to the E-MU and your screenshot was just illustrating where the port setting is? the only real difference i can make out in the screenshot is, where your controller says axiom 6, my box says session one session two. i'll attach a screen shot. i don't know if this has any bearing.
  9. atlas: i have tried various setups with the pocket piano in both chain and basic modes to no avail. david: i have an external midi track that has the E-MU selected as its out port. it is record enabled and there is midi traffic on both in and out on the monitor in the transport bar. in a new project with only this external midi track, this will get the pocket piano to play like a sound module ie. the axiom will play the pocket piano and sounds come from the pocket piano's internal speaker. when i create a new software instrument track, the axiom just bypasses the pocket piano and plays the software instrument directly.
  10. i don't really know how to approach merging the midi. i'm not terribly experienced with this kind of setup. the pocket piano is fairly low tech as far as settings go. 4 tweaking knobs and a row of keys.. yes, i am trying to play chords on the axiom and have it trigger the pocket piano's arpeggiator which would then input in to a software instrument. the thing is right now the axiom is not present at its midi input directly. when i had it chained up as i wrote in my first post (E-MU's midi out -> axiom midi in, standard midi out of the axiom to the pocket piano, pocket piano midi out -> E-MU's midi in) it worked to trigger the arpeggiator but then i lost the ability to send the clock all the way through the chain.
  11. thanks for the help so far. so, is this an issue of merging midi data somewhere in the chain?
  12. hi david, thanks for the response. sorry, i should have included that. midi clock is being transferred to the pocket piano in this setup. the problem is that i cannot get the axiom to control the pocket piano while the pocket piano is controlling a software instrument in logic. i can set up an external midi track to control the pocket piano as a sound module or i can turn on the "send midi via USB" on the axiom but then it bypasses the arpeggiator and controls the software instrument as it would normally. while this is all set up, i can play the keys of the pocket piano and get it to arpeggiate a software instrument or i can play the keys of the axiom and it will play the same instrument as it normally would. the pocket piano has just over a one octave keyboard of tiny wooden buttons and i would really love to be able to play it with an external controller. is there any other details i can give which may help? thanks
  13. anybody can help with this?? maybe i can make this a bit more concise... i have an axiom 49 plugged in to the computer USB, working fine with logic. i have a critter & guitar pocket piano plugged in to the computer using an E-MU USB midi I/O adaptor. the pocket piano is sending midi data and receiving midi clock just fine. here is what i need to do, and i can't get the logistics right: i want the pocket piano's arpeggiator to control a software instrument (NI Kontakt) inside logic and i want to use the axiom to input in to the pocket piano. so, i play the axiom keyboard, which controls the pocket piano's arpeggiator, which then inputs those arpeggiated notes in to a software instrument in logic. this has to be possible. is it an environment configuration? please someone help! thanks
  14. thank you fastfourier for that. i think i'm on the right track now, but still not achieving what i need. i should have been more specific. i am trying to use the pocket pianos arpeggiator control another midi track in logic. so where the setup you suggested now has the pocket piano synced with the midi clock and controlled by the axiom, i need to input the midi data from the pocket piano back in to another software instrument track in logic. still having trouble doing this, i really appreciate your help.
