I was a Logic 9 users for years, and only recently switched over to LPX after building a new system and installing El Capitan. All of my friends ravd about LPX, so I figured I'd be good to go, with this new speedy system. I've been having some major issues from day 1, and no amount of searching for a solution has unearthed anything that seems to apply yo my situation.
My general project template is to have a collection of empty audio, Omnisphere, Play, and Multi-Output Kontakt instances loaded up with a host of libraries. It doesn't give me a very good feeling when I open an empty version of my template and I start getting spinning beachballs when I'm doing things as simple as scrolling up and down the arrange window. The problem gets worse as more information is entered into the project. It usually manifests itself in a variety of situation, though it's hard to pin down the exact reason. It happens in the middle of playback, after playback, while scrolling around the project, and when simple clicking on interface element and editing automation, among others.
My main project/sample hard drive is a 1TB drive with around 80GB free, and though I know that's not the recommended 20%, I never had these sorts of issues with same hard drive on LP9, even when it was almost full to capacity.
What other information could I provide to help hone in what the issue might be? With this software being something I spend 50% of my time in, it's become a huge burden to have to wait after almost every pass of playback or simple actions like moving between MIDI notes and regions for the software to catch up and get ready to work again. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
