  1. Hi pal...the options to unlock the SMPTE position is graded out when all regions are selected??
  2. Hi good folks.. We use backing tracks with our band... I usually download them and then clean them up a bit, pan them, take out what we don't need....then pull over a click from apple loops and we are good to go... Except this time, the tracks tempo is not behaving as normal... i ve pulled the click over and opened up the global tempo....but the track is playing and not paying any attention to the tempo i set it at or the click tempo, which would usually snap to the midi tempo....Nope the track is just continuing at its set tempo.... Ive opened up all the events in each track but no sign of tempo....actually to be honest I'm not 100% sure wha to look out for in there.... any help greatly appreciated!!
  3. Hi folks...im completely confused here... Im making tracks in Logic to put onto a Roland SPD SX sample pad. It will only accept WAV files. So i make the track.....and don't pan it.....i bounce one track with the click muted - which is what goes out front...and then go back and mute the track and keep the click channel open..... Trouble is the tracks are approx 40 MB each...and I've ran outta run on the SPD SX.... So i investigated and was told to make them mono tracks and would take up less room...i thought..great ill do that....so i hit the stereo tab on the output.....and now i have 2 output channels and no idea what to do with them?? Both say bounce.... Do i pan on left an one right????/ Do i bounce both?? Please help guys!! Spent a fortune on the SPD SX...would really like to use it!!!!
  4. Ah ok buddy....so theres no way of putting it on 2 machines no???
  5. Hi folks...seems like I'm only getting to grips with 9!! My bandmate has just went and bought X and Ive discovered 9 files don't open..... Id like to upgrade to X now as well but wanted to ask... If i purchased the hard copy on disc, how many computers can i put it on? Am i limited to 1?? Have desktop and laptop that id like to put it on... Any dis advantages to changing up to X?? Any 9 files that won't work at all??? thanks for any help!!
  6. Hi mate - and thank you for your reply.... Unfortunately the way i am using the pads does not allow the internal click to sync up!! I have another quick query - how do i make the logic tracks mono when they are bounced? It seems more memory available if tracks are mono - but doesnt give me an option when bouncing.....
  7. Hi there folks.... Im currently using a Roland SPD SX sampling pad. It has 2g of memory and there is no way of extending it. I play with a covers band, and im hoping to use the SPD SX to fire off backing tracks. The tracks are made in Logic 9 and are 99% midi files. I then have to bounce as WAV 16bit..... I have succesfully loaded up 15 of them but the memory has now 20% remaining. Looking at the tracks again the files are massive. But besides that the 2 separate files - 1 for front of house , 1 click track are the same size???? Surely the click track should be a tiny file?? Ive attached a screen shot to see if any of you can help....am i bouncing wrong?? or saving wrong???? Many thanks,,,
  8. Hi folks - when i bounce a finished track over to ITunes, 2 of them appear? PCM & MP3 are checked in the Bounce box under Destination, and they have always been checked - but this has never happened before...any ideas? Also - do you know which is the best format to bounce them over?? I use them as backing tracks for the band, and im playing them in ITunes..... Thanks for the help!!
  9. Ok David Ill try that when i get home...altho if I want to import into Project 1 - open up import...how do i get the tracks from Project 2 - ie not the whole project...
  10. Hi David - many thanks for your reply - yes the track was originally recorded in Logic 9....how would i proceed do you think??
  11. Hi guys, just some quick help if possible. We have had the idea of joining a few tracks together to give the live show some momentum and not have horrible gaps inbetween songs. The problem is - i dont think Logic likes the idea very much... it says to shut down one project before attempting another unless transferring - which is what im doing so i dont really pay much attention.. The problem is when I transfer the files, mostly midi - they dont retain any info/settings....is there a way to do this so that for example an organ sound i created in Project 1 can be transferred to Project 2 without starting from scratch>?? Thanks for any help!!
  12. Hi folks - many of my tracks have approx 5/6 midi tracks and maybe 2 audio tracks.... We have tried the tracks out live and have found them to be a little slow.... the guy who does the guitar tracks has long gone and we are stuck with what we have. Is there a way of speeding up the audio....its so handy that the midi just goes with whatever tempo you set....how do i get the audio to do the same??? Thanks for any help!!
  13. Guys, what is the story with freezing the tracks?? I have a few questions, but ill outline what im doing first of all... I have a mixture of audio and midi tracks.....one midi is the click panned hard left - the rest are midi bass tracks, audio guitar tracks, midi tambourine, audio backing vocals etc....all panned hard right...approx 4-7 tracks per song... So my questions are thusly! 1 - Do I NEED to freeze the tracks?? 2 - If yes, why - what are the benefits? What does it do?? 3 - Any drawbacks?? 4 - Does it affect the quality of the tracks when they are bounced?? Thanks in advance!!
