  1. I have a MacPro 2013 (Vader Helmet) 8core 64GB. I don't know what they did to the event editor between 10.2.4 and 10.3 Jumping through regions in the main window of a busy track with an open event list window (using the up down arrow keys) goes like that in Logic 10.2.4: Bam-Bam-Bam-Bam-Bam-Bam... and in Logic 10.3 to 10.4.1: Bam - - - Bam - - - Bam - - - Bam - - - Bam - - - Bam... The data refreshing of the event list is laggy and if you move fast the event editor just can't follow the selected regions any more. Something that didn't happen in former Logic versions. Probably some 'side bug' of the retina renovation. But hey, it's a simple list! Computer could do that faster since the 70s! I made a (very) short video a while ago...
  2. Wow, thanks for that answer! I didn't know that a double click into the piano roll CC lane selects all shown CC's - even if you click into the space beside it! That's very helpful! The Step Editor is also a powerfull tool. I used to have an Event List open all the time to have fast access to all kind of midi data but since Logic 10.3 the Event Editor has a graphic problem and slows down the 'snappiness' of Logic when it's open all the time. I like to have all needed editors open and work with different screensets for different tasks. So I don't have to open and close windows all the time. Maybe replacing the Event List with a separate Step Editor window would be an option... have to try out. Thanks for the input! Warm Regards here too (Frankfurt... 37 degree Celsius expected today)
  3. Are there any key commands that allow to select all controller CC1 (mod wheel data) in a region? The only way I know is clicking on one CC1 event in the editor and use the key command "Select similar Regions/Events". I'd love to save that mouse selection of CC data because you have to activate Region midi automation first. Lots of klicks. But isn't there a possibility to select all data of a kind by key command? Using the command cmd-a (select all) in the piano roll selects all but the CC data. The midi transformer does everything by key command except selecting. I do a lot of orchestral stuff that has CC curves in nearly all regions to control the dynamic over time. Editing that curves or replacing them by key command would be a great time saver! Any ideas? Thanks
  4. So we’re just supposed to take your condescending word for it? Yepp But just listen closely. It doesn't sound the same at all. Listen to the trumpet falls of Studio Horns. Not possible to get that with Samplemodeling.
  5. Logics Studio Horns library has nothing to do with Samplemodeling. The only thing they have in common: both are dry solo brass instruments. They sound different, they have different sources, they have different articulations, they have a different workflow, they have a different format. Even the size it different. It's all speculation and the speculation is wrong. That simple. (p.s. I know the developers of both libraries)
  6. - No pop up window animation for screen sets (on old MacOS7 screen set changes were super fast!) - Multiple midi CC controller lanes in piano roll and score editor - Opening AU instruments and plugins by Drag&Drop on the track - EXS with waveform editor - Midi in and out between AU plugins - Mixer snap shots
  7. Thanks for the workaround... never used that one. I think it's a bug and will be removed in another update some day.
  8. In the piano roll window I can select a recorded midi controller lane by rubber band selection (clicking and dragging and all truncated nodes are selected). This doesn't work in the score editor any more since 10.2.3. The selection will be ignored. It works fine in 10.2.2 and all previous Logics. Can anybody confirm this?
  9. It would be great to have the opportunity to edit existing note pitch by midi keyboard input. Even better if this would happen polyphonic: a selected note will be replaced by a note or a chord coming from the midi keyboard. All note attributes beside pitch stay as before (like lenght, position, velocity, and articulation (in score editor). Would be very effective to generate arrangements from second voices to complete 5-part brass sections. Also good to use bass drum patterns to generate bass lines. Make hi hats to rhythm guitar just by adding chords. Would save tons of mouse clicking! When tabbing through a series of notes by adding pitch from the keyboard it could feel like instant step-sequencer programming.
  10. the minor 9th between the lower E and the higher F is not very beautiful. i would always avoid this dissonance in a tonal arranging style (with the exeption of dominant-7-chords). in your case a G instead of E brings more beauty (as you want a 4-voice harmonisation with the F-melody note on the third chord). to keep the open voicing i also would drop the C an octave down (top to bottom: F A G C over the bass note A).
  11. Hi all! As IRCAM Spat is 64 bit now it gets interesting for Logic X. Using Davids instruction above was very helpful, thanks for that! I set my surround setting in Logic to 7.1 (3/4.1) but after restarting Logic goes back to 5.1. Why? When I open Spat I can only choose 5.1 and all surround pans in Logic are 5.1 - so I could get a number of 6 signals. How do I get 8?
  12. all the above listed problems are gone with 10.0.7! great!
  13. When updating to Logic X I made a track using Logic only: [soundcloud] [/soundcloud]
  14. and here is one more: create a software instrument and draw or record a region over eight bars open the score editor - insert a key change in bar 5 (i.e. A-Major) so there's C-Major for the first four bars and A-Major (three sharps) from bar five create two audio tracks record a two bar melody in C-Major in bar one/two record a two bar melody in A-Major in bar five/six and now the miracle: drag both audio regions from audio track one to audio track two (the follow tempo checkbox get enabled automatically) now listen to both audiofiles: both are playing in C-Major! the second part is transposed a minor third up! (why a minor third up? why not down? why anyway?) (there's a german video where i documented this bug: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8tueMUQHPc&feature=youtu.be )
