Now I've been recently iproving the audio quality of many Terence Mckena lectures online (all recorded 1980-90 on bad mics), which I can usually do just by adding a denoiser and then EQ'ing out any background frequencins.
How ever this one has slightly odd perscussion in the background that overwhelmes the vocal waveform, listen here from this 3mb mediafire file: https://www.mediafire.com/?r1c9lusqfaci6l3
My lecturer said there was a technicque for doing it, I've forgotten what he said it was called, but he explained it as basically zooming in on the audio waveform and snapping the .(velocity?) automation to the audio waveform of the vocal, so the volume is 0 in between dialgue, and only raised when worlds are spoken. Would that work?
Or are there better means to greatly diminish that background sound anyone might know here?
