  1. [soundcloud] [/soundcloud] How do I make crazy arpeggios like this? (happens at the drop)
  2. Due to the person I am working with and them wanting the mix to sound "absolutely perfect", I don't really have that option. This is more for recording a radio show as well.
  3. Hey all, Way back in the day, when I was an avid DJ, I used to use ableton to put together quick mixes. It was easy because Ableton automatically syncs songs to the same BPM and the environment makes it simple to "mix live" within the DAW. My question is, are there any of you that use Logic in this manner? For me, the issues I see are having to go through each song and making sure they are the EXACT BPM (via time and pitch machine or something like that), which seems really tedious Also, does it get crazy trying to line up all the beats perfectly and what not? For those who have use or use Logic to make DJ mixes, what are some good ways to streamline this process? Is Logic a poor choice for attempting something along these lines?
  4. I tried to find the key command to change the quantize value in the key commands but I can't find it. what did you type in the search? Because even when I looked under Piano Roll Commands, there is nothing there that allows me to change the beatgrid value
  5. Trying to use the brush tool but it only paints in 16th notes. I've changed the grid in the project but it still will only paint in 16th notes. What is going on? how do I fix this? *note in screen shot: grid is set to 32 notes yet notes are getting written as 16th notes...
  6. THANK YOU! "Adjust Tempo Using Beat Detection" is god send. Can't believe I am discovering this now. This solved my problem!
  7. Hey all, I am trying to match an acapella to an original song so that I can get it in the correct BPM before I warp it/remix it and what not. Generally my steps are as follows: 1. Load original song into DAW 2. Find the BPM of that song, make sure it matches click 3. Load in acapella, line it up as close as possible to the corrected song. 4. Once it lines up, go into Time & Pitch Machine and warp the BPM to what I want or turn on Flex tool and just pull out the various parts to whatever tempo I want it. BUT, the issue I am having is that I can't line up this song to the click if my life depended on it. It is somewhere between 73.3 and 73.4 but it will always start to float off.... I tried going in with the flex tool and pulling the obvious notes to different downbeats and what not, but once the drums drop out, I have nothing to guide my ear and all hell is breaking loose.... I've also tried just taking the original song, putting into Time & Pitch Machine and setting general BPM's like 73 then changing it to 75 but even at 75 BPM its still off. I feel like I have to get the original BPM correct before making drastic changes. What are some other ways I can get this BPM exact? It;s driving me nuts that I am so close yet can't get it right....help!
  8. Yes, they are being ghost side chained but if I take them off or turn them off they don't really do to much to the issue I am having aka with or without them, still doesn't explain why the automation suddenly is working (or not working in the previous case)
  9. First I double clicked the audio then I went to File > Functions > but "reverse" is greyed out. Whats going on here?
  10. Hey all, I'm trying to write a little riff using the Trombones instrument in the EXS24. When I press the key quickly, it;ll play the trombone in its "fullest, brightest" sound but if I am off by a small margin of how hard I press the key, it'll play a muffled version. What parameters can I change so that it isn;'t this sensitive and will always just play the brightest notes?
  11. Here is a screen shot of the mixer window
  12. I didn't touch anything at all. I literally opened up the project and deleted the ghost automations and it started working normally. I'll make a video in a moment that shows my aux channels and outputs and plug ins
