  1. In older versions of Logic Pro There was a window to the left of the controls on a drummer track that would let you select various drummers. I don't see that or how to get that to show.
  2. I have been having occasional problems with newly recorded audio playing back out of sync. It happens when I punch in and out on a previously recorded region. I am in replace record when this happens. If I try to move the newly recorded audio region to recorded position the audio does not move and remains out of sync by a couple hundred milliseconds. I can not reliably recreate this problem. Some days it happens often and some days not at all. When it does happen I can usually fix it by opening a new track and recording on it, but not always. It does not seem to happen when in auto punch. Anyway just wondered if anyone else has experienced this problem. thanks ml
  3. I have downloaded all of the additional content from Logic Pro X menu but each time I open any of the legacy Insts from the EXS menu it requests an additional down load. That additional content is being shown as installed but I have gone on and downloaded it, following the prompt. The samples seem to be loaded and functional until I save and close out the document. Each time I reboot Logic The same download request comes up and I have to repeat the download process (about 8 min). I tried reinstalling Logic but it made no difference. Is there a Pref/Plist that could be corrupt that needs to be trashed? If so what is the correct procedure? Thanks ml
  4. This is an old bug that seems to have resurfaced. When I record Midi and audio simultaneously and attempt to punch in, the midi track plays back the old notes that I am punching in on. ml
  5. I recently switched to Logic X, as I work sometimes the play back gets hung up. I hit play (on the key board or by mousing on the transport) and it plays for just a second or less and stops. The only way to get it to playback again is to reboot Logic. That fixes it but it is a groove buster and it's happening every hour or so. I've changed keyBoards but that seems to have no effect. anyone had this problem or have a solution? thanks ml
  6. I am planning on buying an inexpensive portable interface for my niece. She is running garageBand on a new macBook Pro. Does any one out there have any feedback or experience/ recommendations about the "Tascam US122 MKII ". Or, does anyone have any better solutions for an all in one interface(mic pre, midi, audio) interface in the 100 to 200 dollar range. Thanks ml
  7. Thanks David, that was it. Must have got bumped while changing buffer size. ml
  8. the waveform of newly recorded audio is not being displayed in the arrange window. It just started happening. Have I inadvertently changed a setting to cause this ? Previously recorded audio still displays it's waveform. If I import audio it displays the waveform of if I open it in the sample editor it is displayed there. Also if I glue regions together the merged audio displays waveform. opened a new document and it has the same behavior, Thanks ml
  9. I have noticed that with some plugs I do have to actually remove them from the channel strip or they will still cause latency. If for example I have an adaptive limiter across the 2-mix, or any buss, putting it in bypass does not get rid of the latency that it creates. Also Altiverb seems to still draw on the processor to some degree when in bypass. ml
  10. well then heck, send it split that solves it!
  11. There are some mastering engineers who prefer non-interleaved files. There are also those who will request interleaved files. It depends on the format they work on. It's usually just a preference and they can deal with the interleaved files logic generates without any problems. Some DAWS give you the option when you bounce to either create your 2-mix as an interleaved or non-interleaved file. Logic does not, so let your mastering engineer know this and they will probably be fine. I would recommend that you send them the interleaved files that you generate and let them do the conversion when they input the files. that way you are sending them exactly what you are hearing and there is less margin for error. There should be no difference in the sound between an interleaved or non-interleaved stereo files or interleaved files that have been converted to 2 mono non-interleaved files, although some mastering engineers will argue that. (They are a superstitious lot)
  12. I have this happening on a few projects also. For me it's always on massive projects. I too experience the problem when I eliminate unused tracks. Happened in 9.1.6 and also happens in 9.1.7. Even though "should never happen".
  13. Since I upgraded to 9.1.7 I have been having tracking problems in Antares' auto tune plug. Wanted to see if anyone out there using auto tune has had the same glitches. The problems result when Autotune's correction mode is set to graph and the source mode is set to host. which is the standard virtual graphical tuning mode. The symptoms are that the tracking info shifts slightly depending on your playback start point. This makes the graphical tuning info out of sync with the tracking info and results in glitchy ( and unusable) tuning artifacts. It's never been a symptom of previous logic versions. I had not changed my auto tune versions that worked perfectly fine with 9.1.6 and before so the only thing different was Logic. I've since upgraded to auto tune 7 (the latest version) to see if that would fix it. The problem is the same. very perplexing.
