  1. I already use external instrument plug-ins for all my hardware synths. It does save the settings set within the ext inst plug-in but in my setup, its important to designate the “MIDI In Port” which can only be set in the track inspector.
  2. Even when saving the channel strip first then save those within a patch still doesn’t work. Even saving a channel strip setting of a simple audio track’s input does not copy over either. I do use the hide feature. But I end up losing my place in the arrangement because all the hidden tracks show suddenly and workflow becomes longer scrolling to the 1 track I wanted to unhide. I know if I keep mind to have only 1 stack open at a time it easier to not lose track but if I can get this preset thing to work, I can dramatically simplify my arrangement view! Does everyone’s track inspector settings, inputs / outputs copy over from a saved patch? My LPX 10.7.9 doesn’t seem to do it regardless of a saving a patch or channel strip setting.
  3. As You can tell I have a huge master template. All my hardware synths take up alot of space but I rarely use all of them in one project. I found out about saving summing stacks as custom patches. This would help make my arrangement window way less busy and give me a quick option to record a synth I end up actually using, awesome! Well this custom patch doesn't save all the MIDI settings I originally set in the track inspector when opening it in a new fresh project or in the template I saved it from. What's weird is that it does save the "MIDI Channel In" on the summing track and "Midi Channel In/Out" on the nested instrument track w/ ext inst plugin. Interesting it only saves some midi settings. Maybe its a bug? I'm in 10.7.9. Can someone try testing to see if track inspector midi settings are copied over? Also any advice or tips for simplifying my master template would be appreciated!
  4. Hey guys so I've been searching deep into this forum about solving latency in my studio setup. After a bunch of loopback tests I realized LPX was in actually not being reported the correct Round Trip Latency. This was due to my UAD setup and how I had UAD Console setup. Plugins in Console due in fact add latency that varies from plugin to plugin. The best way to compensate is leave your Input Delay Compensation "Off" and to keep in mind the latency values of UAD plugin listed in this chart. After figuring all that out my Loopback Tests finally made sense. In my RTL chart you can see what LPX reported, my Loopback tests without any UAD plugins, and another set of Loopback tests with a UAD Unison plugin enabled (+55 samples latency) that I'm recording the loopback through. I have my actual RTL figured out as many of you guys preach in many many threads on this forum! Currently the Rec Delay settings in my chart are based on the difference from what LPX is being reported and my actual RTL w/ UAD unison plugin. I notice that there is a very small difference of 2-3 samples from what LPX is being reported and my actual RTL w/ no UAD plugins. Is it better to set Rec Delay value to LPX reported RTL or actual RTL from my loopback tests? 44.1khz RTL.pdf 48khz RTL.pdf
  5. I just wanted to add since the 10.7.9 update I can now copy/paste channel strip settings to multiple channel strips in one go!
  6. I'm currently troubleshooting some record latency issues and I'm trying a couple things I've found on this forum. I'd like to know the exact distance in ms or samples between the start of bar 1 to the first transient in an audio recording. I know in Ableton this is easily measured and displayed by just highlighting the space in between but not sure how it's done in Logic. Any help is much appreciated!
  7. Hey guys I'm trying to organize my template a bit more and had a question on bus list labeling. If you take a look at my screen shot it shows buses 1-4 are labeled a certain way vs how buses 5-7 / 15-18 are labeled. I noticed that buses 5-17 / 15-18 look this way because they were created them using a summing track stack. Is there a simply way to change buses 1-4 have this extra sub menu without having to create a summing track? I just prefer how summing bus's are organized with a sub menu as it helps declutter the bus list.
  8. I was just having the same issues. I'm currently in a very extensive logic session with lots of tracks with summing stacks. 40+ vocal tracks of harmonies, doubles, and backgrounds each respectively in their own summing stack. Pans were not playing even though I know each summing stack is in Stereo (two intertwining circles). I switched it to mono then back to stereo and my pans were active again. Really weird, anyone think its a bug? Currently on 10.7.7
  9. I have a template that has 40+ Vox tracks. My vocal chain is made up of EQ/Comp/Autotune/Reverb at the start. I can have it dialed in by one take as being quick and ready to go for an artist is most important. I record on this dialed in vocal track then drag and drop the take to another vox track so artist can punch or add adlibs. My flow starts to slow down when I need to copy/paste my dialed in vocal chain to all my other vox tracks. My current way is to open mixer window and "Command Option C/V" to copy/paste that vocal chain to every track one by one. In a perfect world I wish I could "Command Option C" the track with my dialed in vocal chain then select/highlight all the tracks in my mixer window and "Command Option V" to paste that chain to all of those tracks in one go but it doesn't behave this way. I can select/highlight many tracks then add a new plugin on one of those tracks and it will open that plugin up on every track selected/highlighted in one go but this behavior doesn't work when copy/pasting channel strip settings. Anybody have suggestions?
  10. I don't think I can set the send and receive separately on P10. I can do that on my mioXL but it seems like logic takes all of that out of the window and I have to reconfigure in logic. think I need to set something different in logic. I wish I would not hear the P10 external MIDI track unless record enabled was on. When I record enable and play another synth's external MIDI track, I still hear P10 being triggered for whats meant to be only for that other synth. I can stop that by turning P10 local off but then I lose sound of P10 midi sequence being sent to P10 from logic.
  11. Hi guys I’m trying to use my Prophet 10 to be the master keyboard to all my other synths listed below. I want to be able to record MIDI note sequences into LPX for each synth through one master keyboard. My issue is whenever I switch MIDI Channels on my P10 to any corresponding synths below, playback of P10’s midi sequence via LPX stops. I thought by turning Local “off”, it would make P10 keyboard independent from P10 synth engine. I figure my understanding of a synth’s local on/off function is not right or I’m doing something wrong with my MIDI routing in LPX. Any help is much appreciated! All synths plugged into MioXL MIDI Interface. LPX 10.7.4 Prophet 10 via USB MIDI MIDI In Port: ALL MIDI In Channel: 1 MIDI Out Channel: 1 OB6 via USB MIDI MIDI In Port: ALL MIDI In Channel: 2 MIDI Out Channel: 2 Pro 2 via USB MIDI MIDI In Port: ALL MIDI In Channel: 3 MIDI Out Channel: 3 Super 6 via USB MIDI MIDI In Port: ALL MIDI In Channel: 4 MIDI Out Channel: 4 Sub37 via USB MIDI MIDI In Port: ALL MIDI In Channel: 5 MIDI Out Channel: 5
  12. Hey guys trying to get MDA Talkbox to work with Logic Pro X. Followed the setup as follows but yet no results...The sound I get is just the vox and synth playing together. Talkbox doesn't seem to getting the signals.
  13. Also tried importing the project into a new session...pretty much command A to highlight everything, made sure all content, plugins, sends, I/O, and automation were checked and added it to the new session... I did not get any errors as far as audio length changes but seems that some of the recording takes (crucial comps) are corrupt and reading it in a 8-bit format. Attached below are my new errors when I imported the session into a new session...
  14. In the mean time I've been just trying to work with the session and just rebuilding the arrangement within but every time I try to edit a audio region that's been changed in length...i get this error sometimes....
