  1. It's not the limiter that makes the sound... The issue is still there without a limiter or ANY other pluggin for that matter, it's just more faint. Anyhow there seems to be no solution to this problem other than to lower the volume and go cry in a corner ;-;
  2. yikes indeed. Although just because logic puts out +63dB doesn't mean that the computer does. ...I think...
  3. Sounds to me that your issue isn't wether to have mono or stereo at all. You are just using samples that are too long (40mb wav files sounds like a whole 3 minutes or so to me) I'm guessing that you don't need each sample to be 3 minutes long? If you still want to use mono a solution to this would be to first try to make your original sound mono (or there may be phasing issues) If you don't care about phasing problems then you could just click the 2 rings on your output strip to make it mono. (2 rings=stereo 1 ring=mono) Hope this wasn't too unrelated and that it helped. Half asleep.
  4. This topic deserves a [sOLVED] stamp! I wouldn't recommend reducing the bit rate down to 128 as the sound quality would suffer, but if you need space I guess there's nothing else to do.
  5. On another note you can change the klopfgeist to be the exs24 for example which CAN play back samples. That could be interesting. I hav not tried it yet
  6. just to clear things up. You cannot get the klopfgeist to play samples. The link xgman posted seems to give a workaround
  7. Could use some more info about what we're dealing with here. Perhaps a screenshot? (cmd+shift+3 or cmd+shift+4 to take a screenshot)
  8. Not 100% sure of what you're asking. But you can't change the color of the tracks in the arrange view. You can only change the color of the regions and the channel strips in the mixer. I don't think you can change the regions and the mixer strips at the same time.
  9. Yeah it sounds like a graphics bug. It shouldn't affect your ability to record. Besides you shouldn't care about the waveform when you are actively recording. Set the right gain before you start recording and you'll be fine. In Logic Pro 10.0.7 I've noticed that the graphics are getting laggy sometimes (they were fine in 10.0.5)
  10. I thought I'd give a visual of where to find the phaser output mix option in the automation. Also another protip is to use the 'Touch' function which you can find if you click the green 'Read' button in the bottom left of the picture. When you use touch and play the song then change the parameters in the phaser you write the automation live. There will be MANY dots in the automation. I only use this to find the automation parameter that I want to change (sometimes there can be over a hundred different parameters to scout through) Where to find the phaser output parameter
  11. Unlike Logic Pro 9, Logic Pro X has no peak to the volume. So I would deeply recommend putting at least a limiter of some sort on your output track. Once I got up to +63dB. Luckily I wasn't using headphones
  12. Freezing tracks is a thing that I really don't recommend. I use sidechain in most of my music, and if I freeze the tracks the sidechain is deactivated. I'm sure more things are messed up. 4gb and mavericks isn't good. I'd say that 4gb and any kind of music production isn't good. Sometimes when you use many synths that use a lot of ram (like Kontakt) the audio gets all kinds of laggy and eventually it stops and you get that error message that you got. Get more ram in your machine or try to use fewer and less power draining synths and pluggins.
  13. I can't upload that project that I showed in the video, nor the sample for copyright reasons. But to be honest there is nothing more to discover. I could alter the envelopes of the kick but that would change the sound of the kick (and I like it the way it is except for those damn frog-like sounds) I didn't save the last kick project that I shared, but I can recreate a similar one and upload. How do I upload a Logic Pro X project?
  14. I have to disagree with David a little about always using the volume automation. In your inserts section (the one in the inspector to the right) the audio chain goes from the top to the bottom so you can change your volume in many different ways. As an example, let's say that you have a compressor THEN a reverb. You want to kill the audio of the track slowly but want to keep the audio tail of the reverb. To do this you could either use the gain control in your compressor or send your track to a buss with a reverb and actually use the volume fader on the first track. (noticed only now that David wrote 'could' and not 'should' as I read it. Oh well now you know this stuff up there ^ )
  15. In Logic terms 'bounce' means to extract your audio from logic to an audio file such as mp3 or wav.
