  1. Wow I feel dumb. That was it!!!! Thank you so much David!!!!!!
  2. This is absolutely maddening and I’m hoping someone can help. Let me say from the outset that this is not related to Mastering Assistant causing latency. I was on Logic 10.7.8 on macOS Monterey. No issues there with my daily workflow. I updated to macOS Ventura, then to Logic 10.8. Now, when I track guitar, during recording everything sounds fine and as normal. But when I playback, the timing of the recording is off the click. When I look at the waveform, it too is off the grid (everything is late). I have looked at every setting to make sure I didn’t inadvertently change anything. Then, just to eliminate variables such as my interface or other plugins, I removed ALL plugins from the session and recorded my voice into the MacBook internal microphone counting 1,2,3,4 along with the click. Issue still exists - the resulting region is not in line with the grid. Audio buffer is set to 32 like always when I record live guitar. Any idea what could be happening here?
  3. Maybe I'm losing my mind, but for over a year I've had my Track Color settings under Settings -> Display -> Tracks set to Auto-assign-96 colors. Am I wrong in assuming that this applies to Software Instrument tracks as well (I mean why wouldn't it, right)? Well, since updating to 10.7.8 (I think, again unless I'm losing my mind) when I create new Software Instrument tracks, they all create as the default green tracks. I checked some older projects and they all have different colors for the different software instrument tracks, and I definitely didn't do that manually. Is there something I'm missing such as some condition for what needs to happen for one software instrument track to color itself something different from another? It looks like the function is working fine for audio files, and it's also working fine for Markers, which I also have set to auto-assign.
  4. When I saw Logic 10.7.8 released a couple days ago, I was like “Yes! Beat Breaker’s GOTTA be in there!” But alas, no such luck. Here’s to hoping it’s coming very soon!
  5. I'm trying to have a go at this to see if I can figure something out that's not just another workaround. I have a question for anyone who has used the MIDIfxFreeze product (which I have not) - does it do exactly what @anp27 says here? In other words, if you have a pre-recorded MIDI track, enable MidiFXFreeze on that track, hit record, will it overwrite the existing MIDI with the new, affected MIDI? Or does MidiFXFreeze send the affected MIDI to a new track? EDIT- never mind, I went to their website and I see how it works now.
  6. I would definitely go with the MBP M1 Pro, even having no real world experience with the M2 Air. The M1 Max and M1 Pro, despite having fans, are dead quiet with Logic. I have had an M1 Max since November, I use Logic almost daily and have never heard so much as a hint of fan noise. Like Fisherking suggested, Apple didn’t design the Air for heavy workloads like audio and video production. I’ll admit $2500 for a maxed out Air is attractive, but I truly believe you get what you pay for. Apple is quite intentional in its pricing schemes, and is not going to give away MBP power in a MB Air.
  7. Thanks David, that makes sense.
  8. I have static MIDI patterns with equal velocities and perfect timing that I need to inject some humanization into. I have always used Functions-> MIDI Transform -> Humanize to accomplish this, but it seems to be a bit of an antiquated approach. It would be really nice to be able to accomplish it with realtime tweaks via something like MIDI FX. But I have tinkered with all 7 of the main MIDI FX (sans Scripter) and can't quite get to what I need to do (which is simply inject subtle variations to velocity and timing). Which MIDI FX should I be using to accomplish this? Or can I only do this with the Humanize function? Alternatively, if there is some 3rd party tool or plugin that does this really well, I'm keen on learning about that too.
  9. Makes sense to me. Just FYI, I'm on an M1 Mac with Monterey and Logic 10.7.2, and all is working fine with your script so far.
  10. Wow, nicely done man. I just ran your python script locally and did a dump of a very simple ProjectData file. The output is very interesting - I'm using your documentation to try and follow it. I know there's a lot more we can do with this to eventually get it into something human-readable. This is awesome! What a great use of time from being stuck somewhere!
  11. Hey David - yes Gitlab does require an account.
  12. First off, thanks so much for posting!! Secondly though, I'm getting a 404 Not Found error at that link? (Man, Apple moves fast! )
